Has our TM understood that it is not optional or nice to have anymore? can a Dravid or a nohody like Rathore help in innovation ? Does anyone understand why a late bloomer like SKY is by far our best batsman atm ( 1-2 years away from becoming GOAT t20 Ind batsman ) or why we are picking a 37 year old DK to do the most difficult work?

For how long are we going to let Rahuls, Kohlis and Pandyas ( Iyer etc ) play traditional game and score at <140 SR?

SKY will have to play a similar knock in ICC tournament too vs top team.

He has played 4 games and he has failed in all of them in ICC tournaments.

3 vs Pakistan and 1 vs Sri Lanka.

His game includes taking high risk shots , In T20 the number he comes and the requirement to up the run rate also requires taking risks , hence consistency will be hard to achieve. Even in yesterday's game match would have gone had he not attacked  Zampa .  He is the best to take on quality spin but with high risks. One of balls from Zampa he hit it from the middle stump to sqaure third man and fortunately connected in the middle .A little edge /miss he would have gone .

Having said that he also played lot more  straight yesterday with no sweeps  esp. vs Zampa . That is heartening to see.

So our expectation should be around 60% success rate with him.

Both KL and Rohit are 360° player. Strike rate is different thing. Issue with Rahul is confidence.

this much of minute analysis is reserved to SKY alone ?

If someone cannot play 360 they should still play with intent and take calculated risks, very difficult to get SKY kind of players who can perform at the highest stage.

Raina is an example, was not 360 but was on the GO from ball 1.

Venkatesh Iyer is equally good in all directions. He makes the best use of height and reach. He can ramp, paddle scoop, slash through the point, tap to third man, wallop over midwicket,  square cuts,, off drive, on drive.

Why he is not in contention ,even for A team

It's a shame he has been totally forgotten after Pandya came back strongly. At the very least he is a serviceable player. And all his batting in T20I has been in the middle order and not his usual opener's slot.

Pandya fits this description. Though he struggled yesterday, he had strong self belief that he can ace the chase and scored boundaries at opportune moments. He doesn't panick if he fails to connect, he believes in himself.

Next, every pace bowler should bowl like Malcolm Marshall, the 360 degrees equivalent of pace bowler!

PS And looks like in form Chris Gayles, Russells, etc., are out of favor for a relative lack of 360 degrees game.

Pandya has huge limitations on off stump, especially while powering the ball during fag end, almost lost the match ydy.

Once Pandya was back he was binned. IN the last 5 years best 5th wicket partnerships for India in T20. He and SKY put on a show. Look at the run rate.  Both score at 13.23 when they combine. Same way when VR IYer and Pant combined  run rate was 13.13.

Yes He was always treated a pandya's replacement. He can open. He is a left hander option. play in the middle. Decent fielder on the boundary.

Is 360 the new V?

Given that a lot of slower ball bouncers, bouncers being employed it is not just V anymore. But you should still be able to cover most of the area infront of the wicket

Yuvraj's six sixes
