Absolutely, t20i rankings tell the full story, that’s why JJ Smit is a better allrounder than Shadab and our Bhuvi is a better bowler than your phhaassst bowlers Shaheen and Rauf. Also Keshav Maharaj is a better spinner than Shadab Edited October 13, 2022 by QuarantineTormentino raki05 1

express bowling Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Harbhsjan Singh on Umran .... He is my favourite. I want to see him in the Indian team. What a bowler he is. Name a pacer bowling at over 150 and not playing for the country. So I think this is a great thing. He will inspire many youngsters to take up this game, where has come from and what he is doing in the IPL. He has been unbelievable. I don't know if he will be selected or not but if I was part of the selection committee, I would have given him a go ahead. Umran Malik should partner Jasprit Bumrah when India play in Australia," Harbhajan told reporters Mosher, Hell Raiser, Rightarmfast and 2 others 2 3
express bowling Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Dale Steyn .... How India uses him is up to them, but he is certainly capable of playing international cricket. One guy bowling 150kmph consistently; I think every international team will want him. SRT100, Hell Raiser, Suhaan and 5 others 1 7
raki05 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) This clearly reflects how backward thinking our selectors /TM have. Lol at people hyping Bhuvi, Harshal and chahal i remember they hyped them till the moon and now bcci sending 3 fast bowler as one Bumrah replacement. If they have so much confidence in these Harshal and Bhuvi why Shami , Siraj ( Potential replacement for The greatest trundler Bhuvi) and Thakur(potential replacement for Harshal) have been pushed at last moment. Asia Cup has really shown aukaat of some expert here as well as selectors and TM. Edited October 13, 2022 by raki05 SRT100, singhvivek141, Adorable Fan and 3 others 2 4
nitinbwj Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Quite inexplicably, his pace dropped from 150 to mid 140's in Internationals. He was no where as good as he was in IPL. he was breathing fire in IPL match after match clocking 152 plus for fun. Umran Malik Speed vs Ireland in his debut match. 148,145,142,140,142,143,145 (1 wide) Against Eng in that 3rd T20 when he gave away 56 runs, his avg pace was 143. He has played 3 Internationals and has an eco of 12.44. Whatever happened in these 3 international games, messed him for sure. He never looked like bowling those 150 plus balls at all. I know that the sample size of 3 matches is too small and nerves can play a role but his speed dropped and he got hammered every match. nevada 1

Nerves of international cricket are a different beast altogether and then our team management which is hardly encouraging high pace. In IPL, fast bowlers do faster because they are encouraged to bowl fast.

They're unable to move on from this takia-kalaam and it's being passed to the younger generation as well. Why would a young fast bowler will bend his back and tire himself while bowling at 145-150 k, when the trundlers with gingerly runp can bowl 120k and get selected for national duty. I know that the sample size of 3 matches is too small and nerves can play a role but his speed dropped and he got hammered every match. May be ipl speed guns were reading a bit up. But still you have to consider he bowled more number of 150 balls in ipl than Nortje and Ferguson two of the fastest bowler in world cricket. It may be he was overwhelmed as he was getting comment right, left and center by Dravid,Shami and many other Indian ex cricketers that speed is not everything. He might have been asked to focus on line and length. It's like you are asking a formula one driver to drive slowly to avoid an accident, I bet if formula one driver deviate from his natural driving speed he would more be likely to met with an accident. In any ase 3 matches is not enough to judge a potential fast bowler when you were already carrying super useless Bhuvi, Avesh and Harshal for so long in all the useless biletral. nitinbwj and Adorable Fan 1 1

Not just Selectors some expert here also feel slow trundlers woul always maintain good economy and line and length. We have seen it thousand time you need wkt takers , mercuiral bowlers if you want to win in crunch situation. These trundler might bowl economical on certain conditions but they would neither bowl economical in crunch pressure match ,nor will they take wkts to change course of the match and it has been proven since 2013 till date. Nikhil_cric Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 His pace was nothing like it was in the IPL . Always suspected that IPL speed guns were inflated. Anyway, even consistent 140 + is a big asset in Australia and an option we don't have . That pace would have been useful in the middle overs and at the death. Shame his control is not that good.

Lets have a Charhar ahead of a Umran. Its madness. I cannot believe what I am reading and hearing about how good this guy potentially is and the consistent speed he bowls at. Many international batsmen struggle to have hand eye coordination when deliveries hit 150+ because simply there is almost no bowler out there to practice on. Whats worse is that it sends a LOUD MESSAGE to juniors to stick to trundler pace to play for India. express bowling and raki05 2
