Who comes up with these suggestions of two right handed off spinners in a WT20 game vs a top team?

Even Khaleel would have thoroughly enjoyed these fast pitches

People were called clueless when they were asking for genuine pacers.  Without a wicket taking spinner we are really lacking a enforcer in middle overs.

Dare I say I am even missing Thakur.. Who at least picked wickets in Middle overs.

Arshdeep is doing a great job with new ball(our long term weakness)  needs better support

The Selection committee is a joke ,but so is the management .

Before the World cup ,everyone was raving about axar's performances in India ,but I said he would get carted around in Australian conditions, it's suicidal to play a single spinner forget playing 2 ,unless of course the spinner is a t20 expert or a clever leggie which none of our bowlers are !

On the top of that our pace bowling is light ,we should have picked Siraj and Prasidh in the squad also Shardul who should have been the pace bowling AR and 5th bowling option on such wkts.

On perth type of wkts you need pace bowlers who pick wkts,4-25-0 type of spells won't work here ,you need the opening bowler to pick wkts upfront and only one guy is doing the job .

I think our bowling has somehow created an illusion of doing a fine job till now ,but the wheels will come off sooner , you just know it!

we could still niggle out harshal & include thakur. But are we smart enough?

We are spin obsessed nation but don't produce quality LOI spinners.

Chahal, Ashwin, Axar and Hooda

Atleast if you are picking two of these four then have some variation.

Decent options in Asia, redundant in Perth.

Which is pathetic, in Aus we needed a quick bowling all rounder & not a spinning all rounder.

Selecting a team for Aus based on IPL performances that happens in Asia shows the quality of our selectors & think tank. Either Deepak or Thakur should have played all our games since last WC.

Great post.

How come some on this forum can understand this simple basic logic and yet the BCCI/TM and Rohit cannot comprehend this? They have consistently got many selections wrong over the years for tournaments.

Dont even get me started on why Pant was not selected for the first game in Australia ahead of the preferred subcontinent expert in Karthik.

Correct, great post.

If you want one clear simple example of just how pathetic the selection committee is.

Just look at Shami, not even in the squad or backups about 6 weeks ago, barely has played any T20 cricket for India.

Bowled his full quota in every game so far for 1/25,1/27 and 1/13.

Let me tell you Pant will make them even look more stupid when he plays a game. Just watch. He will show all of them, like he did when he was  considered unfit to play against Australia in Adelaide.

Thakur too will show them up as well.

NO.

The BCCI/TM/Hitman are not smart enough.

We genuinely have to hope and pray someone like Harshal gets injured. Thats how sad Indian cricket is.

Just remember, the ONLY reason India beat Australia in the Test series last time, was because India had injuries and were FORCED to make changes and bring in new players.

India BUTCHERED this World Cup from the beginning by not picking a side after the last world cup and preparing them for this one.

I am pretty sure Bishnoi wouldn't have been carted around for 43 in a low scoring game ffs. Ashwin.. :whack2:

Im pretty sure if Pant came instead of Hooda, India would have won.

So arrogant by the team management that they think they know more than us. Pant has had consistent success down under.

I mean Hooda scored a duck off 3 deliveries and didnt bowl.

It is basically the same side which played last WC, just the conditions are vastly different

But this squad is lethargic, mediocre and massively dependent on individual brilliance to save themselves

Senior most bowler is cluless when the side looks up to him

Bhuvneshwar needs to go the very next day we pack our bags

Selectors, can't limit their sight to trundlers (without bounce) only, they are sheeps can be slaughtered anytime

What I struggle to understand is how we know better than all of them.

We shouldnt, but we all do on here.

Pant, Thakur, Siraj would have been wonderful inclusions and really strengthened this team.

Our trundlers are like Silence of the Lambs, waiting for Hannibal Lector to slaughter all of them.

Bhuvi despite bowling "well" as per critics has a grand total of 3 wickets in 3 matches of which 2 were against Netherland and 1 wicket was of Pakistan tailender. This guy rarely picks wickets even when he bowls well. Such an useless pace bowler for bowling upfront and then he is worse at death.

On the other hand Arshdeep has 7 wickets.

ICF is prime example of we as fans deserve non performing cricketers

Lol he was celebrated for his awareness against Pakistan, what does it mean?He wasn't supposed to come here,SENA sides will remain unharmed

Playing safe, play for the moment not future is already hurting us

Bilaterals arent used the way they should be,Kela has shown enough to be thrown out of equation but he will be merrily played in everything till CT 25(atleast)

I don't trust Thakur, but if he's there play him atleast in Perth

Give him the best conditions

Siraj not in 15 baffles me more

He is the poster boy of mediocrity...

Australia permanently dropped Mike Lewis when he gave more than 100 runs in an ODI...we persisted with him and promoted as the leader of our attack.

It backfired in Asia Cup when a left handed was batting in middle overs and hence Ashwin bowled his quota there and Hooda didn't even bowled one over which means Pandya has to fill his quota of four overs even though he was getting smashed.

Same happened today. If you want to play Hooda then why not drop Ashwin and play Chahal instead? Also, Hooda has mostly been lucky to get into the squad because of his 2 overs of added bowling. He hasn't done much to merit that place.

Op, Don't ask logical questions!.

As for Ashwin being picked constantly after his serial failures in the last 4 WCs is beyond stupidity.

This is the problem. Posters having a go at Bhuvi instead lol.

If an experienced 36 year old spinner can't stop over pitching under pressure on a ground where straight boundaries are shorter,  then what is the point picking him?

We lack a world class T20 wrist spinner who can bowl those defensive lengths based on ground dimensions.

We play an average off spinner and wonder why our bowling sucks.
