Because his overall ER is low and he picks wickets in low key matches, questions won't be raised ... but he rarely picks wickets upfront in the big matches and his death bowling has really gone down. And selectors seem to consider him for 24WCT20 as he is getting selected in T20 team right after WCT20 in 2022 ! What madness . raki05, Mosher and express bowling 3

Do we have any explosive batsmen sitting in shed anywhere?

Having said that I think his initial tight overs helped Arshdeep in picking wickets It's another myth that it helped Arshdeep. We can go around in circles with this .... Arshdeep's wickets helped Bhuvaneshwar's economy is also arguable and more likely. raki05, Lord, adi B and 1 other 4

They were comprehensively beaten by swing at probing length. The way he swung the ball both ways batsmen couldn't prepare themselves.

That definitely happened. Lord and raki05 2

If a team puts 130+ on board it is batting that is the issue. KL in particular has hurt India and Dravid will not drop him. But let us keep on blaming Bhuvneshvar as that is a cool thing to do. I don't know what you watch but Bhuvneshwar is not the issue. He is bowling better than all Indian bowlers so far and that includes media's current darling Arshdeep.
The Realist Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 If want economy and no wickets may as well drag Ishant Sharma back from the dead. Plus will fall from skyscrapers for his captain if things don't work out. Win win. Laaloo, express bowling, singhvivek141 and 3 others 6
Need4Speed Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Bhuvi is looking better due to wkts upfront by Arshdeep..else if no wkts in first couple of overs..agressive batsmen wud hv lined him up..like what Cameroon Green did in India.. Bhuvi’s stats are good and he did well as a support bowler but not as a premier bowler..which he shud hv in absence of Bumrah.. Everything looks good for now from the opening bowlers but real test is yet to come..against 2 of 3 opponents Buttler + Hales Conway+Finn Allen Finch+Warner..assuming Finch improves.. So my Issue is this..had Bumrah been available and lets say Shami was also a middle over choice..then they wud hv picked Bhuvi ahead of Arshdeep..I dont like that.. or to keep it simple.. wud you like wkts upfront with Arshdeep or you will pick economical Bhuvi ahead of Arshdeep in ur team.. ofc..You hv different roles of the bowlers in the team but when we were forming our xi ahead of world cup..we were not picking Bhuvi for his economical first few overs only..as he is vulnerable in the death now and dont add value with batting.. which team will pick a bowler only for 2 economical overs in PP.. In short economical Bhuvi without wkts is subpar performance in my books..which esp hurts in low scoring matches..as req run rate can easily be covered up later IndianRenegade 1
nitinbwj Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 3 overs 27 runs. Useless. Atleast Arshdeep is taking wickets. Bhuvi would have given those 20 runs in last over. adi B, raki05 and express bowling 3
Number Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 (edited) If we are fair, he actually got a genuince nick of Liton Das but DK messed it up. I have always maintained if TM has sniff that it is going to be a patta wicket with no swing, they should not pick him. But he is a wonder of statistics in this format.
