Trichromatic Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 He bowls economical, but let's be honest you need wickets in these conditions. His economical bowling is like batsman scoring 45 ball 50 on flat pitch. singhvivek141, putrevus, Hell Raiser and 6 others 1 2 6
Sgattick10 Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Agree. Need wickets upfront from him. Cos he can't do much at the death. Having said that I think his initial tight overs helped Arshdeep in picking wickets

Popular Post express bowling Posted October 31, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) Bhuvi is the bowling equivalent of the consolidators we have in batting ... but with a lower ceiling. Because his overall ER is low and he picks wickets in low key matches, questions won't be raised ... but he rarely picks wickets upfront in the big matches and his death bowling has really gone down. Correct. We all know also that wickets in hand at the end is massive. You need to inflict early damage with cuts and bruises to prevent heavy bleeding at the end. 50 off 3 overs is very doable in T20 cricket in the 18,19 and 20th overs. raki05 and express bowling 2
Nikhil_cric Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 We are not losing matches because of our seamers no matter their limitations. It's the lack of quality spin and spin play. Miller hit 14 runs off 3 overpitched Ashwin deliveries whereas Saffer spinners overpitched 2 deliveries and we scored 2 runs. You can replace bhuvi with whatever seamer you think is best fit to replace him and we will still lose. Chakdephatte, nitinbwj, sandeep and 1 other 2 2

Rabada is quicker and taller than Bhuvi and he didn't take wickets either . Arshdeep has that left arm angle and that's harder to negotiate . But SA batters were generally playing a bit more cautiously . There were many reasons for yesterday's defeat - Poor batting strategy (Perth demands conservative batting upfront and aggression in the 2nd half), more intent against overpitched deliveries by the likes of DK, ack of a quality spinner, pathetic standards in the field. Seam bowling is the least of the issues right now imo. Navdeep Srivastava, Adamant and Chakdephatte 1 2
Rightarmfast Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 It is no secret that Bhuvi has been a very limited bowler. Everybody knows that, and everybody knows he has been hyped for reasons unknown. T20 is such a fast format, do you even need consolidators? The whole strategy of team India has been wrong. T20 is a format where you got to go all out with guns blazing. Not try playing 70's cricket. 70's cricket is what India is playing. You need to give chances to new players. Let them develop. Playing a proven failure again and again will not give you a different result. Its as simple as that. raki05 and singhvivek141 2

Surely you don't believe that Bhuvi is the ultimate wicket taker we can find ! His wickets per match are low in every format. Khota Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Bhuvi is doing fine. Batting is the issue. KL in particular. cricketfan28 and Chakdephatte 2
Clarke Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Is going to ? It already has, never mind the batting problems.

In this World Cup, Bhuvi has been amongst the most economical bowlers I believe only Boult, Nortje and maybe one other bowler has been more economical. Shami hasn't taken any more wickets than Bhuvi It's not much but considering we have much more pressing issues than the seam bowling , I don't think we should start looking to fix something that has been working OK. Lord Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Zero early wickets in 2019 WC (We dropped Shami in semi) zero in 2021 WT20 Zero till now except Ned game. New ball run stopper. Can't call him strike bowler raki05, adi B and express bowling 3

Shami is a forced selection due to Bumrah's injury. Don't forget that he has not played any T20s after the IPL while others played. But he has still outbowled Bhuvi with an early wicket in both the big matches and better death bowling too. This has been a pace bowlers' world cup in a majority of the matches so far. If the pacers can't take enough wickets, we will struggle to win. Edited October 31, 2022 by express bowling singhvivek141, SRT100, Lord and 2 others 1 2 2
vvvslaxman Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 He has this three card trick. Two out-swinger followed by one in-swinger. Not a bad strategy. Works mostly when the length is right. His inswinger has to be slightly fuller like Arshdeep. raki05 and Lord 2

putrevus Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 He should have been kicked out of the team in 2019. He is useless and will always be liability in death overs.
