Best World Cup ever?

Only 4 group stage games left and only 1/4 semifinalists have been confirmed. Most games have been highly competitive and a lot have gone to the last over/ball. Not to mention a plethora of upsets

That could be the worst of all. It was a win-toss-win-game-chasing for all major teams. Aus were lucky to win that WC.

Hope there is no more rain. Lot of  lower ranked sides punched way above their weights. WI got eliminated. So many upset wins.

T20 has certainly narrowed the gap between associates vs main teams and in this WC the associates have been refreshing to watch. T20 is the ideal platform for spreading the game further into the unexplored territories - ODIs should get phased out.

Those last 3 overs of Aus chase are worth watching again.  Starting from Hassan Ali's dropped catch till Shaheen getting smashed by Wade.

Despite the rain, a good WC overall.  However, certain things look weird to me.  On weekdays, there hv been 2 to 3 games.  Whereas on Saturdays only 1 game.

Too bad I can’t find any good long highlights. 5 minute game highlights on the ICC site doesn’t do justice on the incredible game it was.

This one has some good aspects and some bad ones.

 

I like that there is a fairly even contest between bat and ball. The fast bowlers have something to do here and not just watch the ball hit past the boundary line. Nothing for the spinners though.

 

Bad part is all the rain interruptions. Almost every team has been affected by rain interruptions. Afghanistan had two complete wasshout games. That is not good in determining a fair winner. SA had almost won their match against Zim, but still had to split points.

Most would prefer 2007. But if we strictly talk about best match ever.. nothing can beat India vs Pakistan 2022 at the  G.  So much drama, twists, right from the start till the end.  This world cup may be forgotten but that match won't be forgotten

earlier 4-5 matches called off due to rain took some of the sheen.  Afghanistan had two matches rained off.  Otherwise, the conditions have been good esp for pacers.  Good display of pace bowling and some tight finishes.  What's impressive has been the pacers from even the emerging nations clocking around 130-140 range and being tall helps in these conditions.
