If he is a sure starter for home world cup then it doesn't look good.

Coming to the main point, yes he is a sure starter and yes that's not good for us.

Dhawan has probably cemented his place for the next year's odi world cup thanks to experience/senior player quota.

 

KL will be the back up opener, who is  another minnow basher. With pant's lack of form he might keep wickets and bat in the middleorder.

 

Gill should have scored heavily in the RSA/NZ series and kicked Dhawan out of the squad, funny thing is that he is not even in the odi squad for BD tour, which clearly shows he is not in the plans for the ODI WC.

You have to develop new players by giving them enough opportunities at the right time.

The selectors will never learn. The WC for them is all about rewarding star players for their services during their heyday, totally disregarding their current form, fitness and age. Are Dhawan's slowed down reflexes going to magically get better after one year? Is the frequently injured out of shape Rohit going to be lean and fit to play an entire ODI tournament one year from now?

Hitman isnt "out of shape". Thats what you may say about an elite athlete that has taken time off from sport.

 

The guy is bloody pregnant, morbidly obese and old. He isnt going to improve his diet or fitness in the next 12 months.

Dhawan should not be in the team let alone the squad. He wouldnt even make it to any of the Top 5 countries in ODI. Thats how you know he is that bad.

Yes I can see this happening.

 

You want to know why, because Dravid did this in the WC in SA.

I can see Dravid coming up with this idea too, it allows all the uncles to all play and also means Iyer and SKY can feature as well.

 

Hitman, Dhawan, Kohli, SKY, Iyer, KL +  5 bowlers. (Pandya, Sundar + 3 others)
