Am I the only one reluctant to watch India when KL is in the playing XI ? Averages less than 35 in 45 tests. Is he Brijesh Patel’s karnataka quota guy ?

Very painful to enter these threads as his  fan. He needs correction or we need to look past him. That Sir was a retort to unowho.

I was joking. Yes i pretty well know that is why I said KL was stabilizing the ship.

Are we still surprised to see low performers in our test line up? Don’t forget after all the noise around our 3-5 batters’ average, we have only gotten rid of Rahane. Pujara and the king are still around.

Pujara won fake man of the series award lol

Shubman Gill must be watching this painfully Two losers got out for almost nothing

If he had played and failed on this pitch, pretty sure they’d be yelling at him as well.

It is not about what will happen. It is about what should happen. A young gun who has come of age in two formats. Also as a batsman averages 50 plus against this particular opposition. He should be the first name in that list  It is not like these guys have been failing only for a series or so. They have been failing for 3 years. Intermittently they score a 50 somewhere and keep their place.  Rohit sharma went missing in the Gabba test. It was Thakur, Sundar, Gill who put their hand up alonwith Pant.   Pujara was sucking the momentum out with his 8 runs in 95 balls.  Gill was doing the heavy lifting.

Gill is very talented against pace.

But nothing out of the ordinary against good spin bowling.

But he most certainly deserves to be in the playing Xi

As expected, our walking wickets did not disappoint.

We shouldn't really have any reservation play him against a side that has 2 off spinners one being a debutant regardless. He is still a better player than Lohli and co.

Horses for courses. If there is only place for 1 replacement - I would get Iyer instead of Gill.
Iyer is the best player of spin in the current squad as a pure batsman and it is amply clear that Aussies will persist with these 2 spinners

Ideally both KL and loli should be kicked out of the side and both Iyer and Gill should be in.

Yup that was the most cringey award it should have gone to Iyer or even Gill. I believe they both scored runs when it mattered not like Khujara when we were already cruising.
