Without him we would have really struggled with this dud middle order.

I wish he completes 5K runs before he retires. With his stellar ODI record will be a truly illustrious career and do some justice to immense natural abilities he possesses.

Yes.. Let us not forget Rohit was part of two Gabba chase attempt.  He failed in both.

That Adelaide test where Kohli and Rahane were playing well he came in and got out meekly as well. He did well opening in England though.

Rahane was robbed in that match and given out incorrectly, Rohit just threw it away - that was the test match where I stopped supporting "extra long rope" for Rohit in test cricket.  I believed in his talent and thought he'd figure it out in test cricket, and just needed consistent opportunities.  If Rohit had stepped up that game, he could have had a much longer test career.  But he threw his wicket.  Now in this final iteration, his last shot at a test career, he appears to have finally figured out how to avoid doing that too frequently, and is flourishing.

He didn't do too badly in BGT 2020-21. 

Got us off to good starts in 3/4 innings he opened.

His returns are low compared to investments made in him. He used to throw away a lot. He seemed to be more patient now.

In my opinion, he has been a very big underachiever in test cricket. He could have won India many more test matches if he got his mental aspect sorted out at a younger age.

Unfortunately, when he gained his mental forte, his physical body became frail.
