EnterTheVoid Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Test match that struggles to last 2 days. India are not playing to their home advantage. This is just luck. Disappointing stuff. Austin 3:!6 and jf1gp_1 1 1

Disappointing stuff. Agree- our batsmen are terrible vs spin. This kind of pitch brings even less than great spinners into a real threat. It is a lottery. Takes one innings of real skill and bit of luck to make difference and it was Khawaja in this instance On a pitch that has a bit of turn but are "good" our spinners have the skill to prise out opposition, Aussies will not (as proved in last two tests) Also maybe Ashwin especially tries too much - combination of pitch help, low scorecard so wicket taking pressure- on a pitch like this, instead of just landing on a spot consistently and letting the pitch do the rest. vvvslaxman Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Last minute Dharamsala mess up could have been avoided. Why did they shift to Indore. Could have played at the Eden Gardens. Lord, raki05 and Vijy 3

Test cricket IMO should be limited to just the 5-6 top venues - Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Delhi Stan AF 1

Lord Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Aus v SA this year lasted 2 days too. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/south-africa-in-australia-2022-23-1317472/australia-vs-south-africa-1st-test-1317492/full-scorecard But that was a fantastic pitch. Only batsmen's fault.

BacktoCricaddict Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 (edited) This must be said (and this thread is the best place to say it): (1) Yes, this pitch is bad. (2) No, the other pitches in this series, or in the past where spin won, were not bad. While it may be convenient and tempting to use this pitch to rant about all Indian pitches, krpa karke, don't. SA tour of Ind in 2015 (?) comes to mind, as do 2 of the tests from the recent Eng tour of india

dilliboy Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Aus top order far far superior to us, the pitch has nothing to do with the loss
