I'd also say the idea of format specialists is pretty sound. The way he put in effort in his bowling, he could probably do that in most T20s besides adding some yorkers etc here & there. The same won't be possible for an ODI workload.

When in rhythm, he is India's most valuable T20 player. Yeah more than KL and Bumrah. Batting at #5 suits him, let's not him making a finisher when KL, Pant and Virat come back

I genuinely thought India would win the test easily, going by how they bowled out Eng in the first innings.

I feel our 4 bowlers should be chosen to be genuine wkt takers and not chosen for batting. hence, nos. 8-11 can all be no. 11 ability batting-wise. pandu can be 5th bowler, and hooda as 6th bowler perhaps. this way, we can play a specialist at 7 (e.g., karthik)

Yes 4 bowlers need to be all phase bowlers and wicket takers. Even specialist Spinner should be someone who can bowl in PP and death if required.That enables captain to use matchups.

 

Hooda is good but will miss out. Kohli will take that spot. Chahar or Thakur can bat at 7 .Karthik needs to be at 6

I knew he would not get a 100 as he tends to get out or remain not out in 90s ... He could have had 4-5 100s more by now 

 

Tests: 90 odd in SA & 70 odd v AFG 

ODIs: 70 odd in CT final, a 70 & a 80 against Aus, a couple of 90s in Aus, ... 

T20s: Some 70s-80s this season in IPL (as he got an opportunity to bat in the top 3-4) 

 

PS He has a Test 100 in SL but appears as if he does not seem to care about 3 figures (so in a way refreshing attitude from an Ind batsman) ... Once he gets a few, he could rake them up (naturally without thinking about them)

Actually pandya is an all phase bowler now , so u can afford the 3rd seamer to be 2 or 1 phase bowler

His greatest attributes apart from atheltic ability is his mental fortitude and fighting spirit. He has that never say die attitude. He will definitely win us an icc tournament. Will be shocked if he doesn't.
