For almost 5 years I have heard he is the second coming of Bradman and Dennis Lillee.

 

He is an total failure. Nothing to show for I was ridiculed when I said he will pick an injury trying to be an allrounder but here we are.

 

Five years later all the time invested has been wasted.

 

Poorest return on investment ever.

Well the question is given how fragile he seems to be, is his batting better than kishan’s to play him as a pure batsman? Kishan hasn’t played a lot to say definitely, but on current form I will go with him.

We need to understand the roles of No.6 and No.7 batsmen in white ball cricket 

 

Their primary job is to to come in late and play at a very high SR in the few ball they get to play. Scoring 50s and 100s and having high averages is not their job.

 

If these players are ridiculed then we will have a situation we have today. Everyone in India wants to bat in the top 3 in the IPL and score 50s. 

 

And we don't have a replacement ready for an injured Hardik.

 

Hardik did this job well till his injury in 2020.

 

In 2021, he is clearly injured and out of form .. and needs to be rested till he recovers. 

 

Problem is that we have not shown the foresight to keep a replacement ready for this role.

 

Moreover, having a 6th bowler is very important in white ball cricket ... to cover for a specialist bowler having an off day.

Ben is mentally unfit, Pandya is Physically and Technically unfit.

It was always ridiculous to compare Ben Stokes to Pandya. Ben Stokes is legit batsman who has technique to play test cricket.Pandya is a hack who never progressed in last five years.He has remained pure bits and pieces player whose TM even in IPL does not trust him to bat in top order.Unless a young batsman bats at the top of the order and learns to build innings and experience different parts of the game you will never progress as batsman.

 

 Ben Stokes will be first name on the paper in all formats for England.Once Pandya stopped bowling due to unfortunate injury , he should never been part of this squad,He and Jadeja have to bowl to give captain a sixth bowling option.Why was Jadeja batting in front of pandya.

He has won you multiple white ball series against Australia home and away.  If that is a "total failure" because you are so desperate to claim "I was right", then that says more about you than him.

Kishan has never shown effectiveness batting outside top order.

Kohli, Rohit won numerous bilateral series on their staggering records are dismissed by the same folks who are quoting some miniscule role of Pandya role in some odd bilateral series wins. Unlike Pandya who still remains a complete bits and pieces player, these guys have carried Indian team's batting for over a decade.
