I will support the team anyway, with a hope that Ashwin, Jadeja, Kohli, Rohit shouldn't be considered for ODI's anymore and only focus for Tests.

I don't want the same old washed up faces rising again for 2027 WC like Feroz Khan in Welcome in the name of experience with declining fitness.

 

Along with the above, Shami & Shardul should also be discarded from ODI's, let them play Tests and manage till WTC 2025. For ODI tournaments we should look to inject new youngsters who can bowl quick & can bat as well.

Team is very strong with mix of good top order batsman ,variety in spin bowling ,wicket taking fast bowlers .Only concern is middle order and makeshift wicket keeper Rahul.

 

Rohit ,Gill Virat will perform in most of the games and when they fail,Iyer,Rahul,Pandya ,Surya should up their game.

 

The core of the team is strong with

Rohit

Gill

Virat

Pandya

Bumrah

Kuldeep

 

And can be ably supported by Iyer,Rahul,Ashwin,Jadeja,Siraj,Shardul,Shami.

This is the best possible pool at the moment ,based on guys available for selection with some international experience.

One would have loved to have a little more experienced Tilak in 15 pool , that would have given a leftie &  6th bowler in emergency , so that batting 

would have Hardik at  7 without  affecting bowling strength too much. 

Lets give a chance to our stars like VK, Rohit, ASH, Shami, Bhumra to do well for the last one time in WC.

This. Also, no more fraud theories allowing frauds to masquerade as all-rounders.

 

The Top 6 have to be specialists, with a couple bowling a bit of part time off spin.

For the first time since 2011, I actually believe we have a real chance at winning the world cup. The team looks to have most major bases covered, we don't have chinks in fast bowling (in 2019, Bhuvi was opening the attack  ) and we have a real potent weapon in Kuldeep. It is now upto Kohli and Rohit to win this as others will do their part.

2011 had less number of chokers. Let us not forget.  Raina, Yuvi, Zaheer, MSD, Sehwag, Gambhir. Then Sachin always have this box office world cup more often than not. That is where I am going to be guarded.

Just to add, we were a good chasing side till a few years ago.

With MS retired and VKs slump ,India is more happy setting targets than chasing stiff targets .

The Aussies are the only ones who have as many bases covered coming into this tourney and their upside is higher.

 

When we get to semis , we have to ensure that Hardik can give 10 in both semis and final. 

 

And depending on how Kohli goes. If he is plodding and taking his time, we can't afford him . Kishan has to come in then

above have been groomed , suppprted to the core . I will not critisize dravid henceforth . The wall has forged the strongest odi team since 2011 .

One good thing is our last league match is against Ned. They can rest pandya, bumrah and siraj before the semi (it shouldn't be a must win game, in any case)

We would have probably won WTC F as well. And given Aussies 4-0 defeat in BGT. Biggest Indian cricket tragedy I can remember.

I was thinking the same in the previous WC as well.  Only to end up seeing our team nearly losing to Afghan, of all teams.
