coffee_rules
By BCCI or Dravid or senior ex-cricketers. Players do such sacrifices by not taking singles when the target is less than 10 runs. He was on 30 and Kohli on 70 with 34 still needed. He just st scored 3 runs more to Kohli’s 30 runs. Criminal to do that for personal milestones Is this an old boy’s’ club? sarcastic, Laaloo, SandeepMotta and 6 others 1 1 7 Link to comment
Sean Bradley
Had no impact on the outcome of the game, has done nothing to be reprimanded for. A intl World Cup hundred is a hundred, nothing wrong in that. Link to comment
nikrulz
After what Pandya did to him in the First match. He is being selfless. There is a good vibe in the dressing room...positive team atmosphere. Let it long continue.... tweaker, raki05, Norman and 3 others 2 1 3 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Kohli finished it quickly. But optics won't look good given that Rohit didn't mind taking risks at 86 and 48. SRT100 and coffee_rules 1 1 Link to comment

I just want to believe that, if there was that possibility, they would've played it differently. I may also be more accepting if someone was on 93 and the target was 10, but 70 is a long way off .... coffee_rules and express bowling 2 Link to comment

Even if we lose to all the decent teams remaining (ie Eng, SA & Nz), we should still qualify , as there are 2 more weak opponents to face (SL & Ned). 6 wins are enough to qualify, regardless of NRR. Frustrated
Had kohli not bothered about getting his hundred and started hitting little early, our NRR would hv probably improved only marginally (in decimals) LOL. Hardly matters. Link to comment
Mariyam
I think I have figured out @coffee_rules game plan here. Post retirement when he returns to Swades, he plans to become the headmaster/principal of a boarding school. Picture AB from Mohabbatein. Anushasan. Parampara. sarcastic
@Sean Bradley, @deathmonger, @Frustrated While you are right about the fact that KL Rahul refusing single does not have (or have very very minor if at all) effect on NRR or overall result, it is not a good culture if personal milestones are considered more important than team goals. It is not a good culture to be inculcated among team members in the long run. If Kohli wanted a world cup 100, he should have batted faster and got it earlier. Kohli woke up from slow batting only after a 14 run over by KL Rahul when the latter hit a 6 and 4 in the same over. The important thing to note is the same habit may creep in even if there is a bit more impact on match or the overall tournament. It is a very very bad precedent for the team. Kohli is not a youngster and another simple 100 should NOT be big deal to him. @coffee_rules is right. At least, KL Rahul and everyone be told to not give importance to individual milestones but I don't think that will be done. At least, KL Rahul and everyone be told to not give importance to individual milestones but U hv a valid point. Though I m sure if it were a KO match or a Final, Kohli (or anyone else) would not hv bothered about the hundred at all. Another thing worth recalling is that Kohli struggled to get a hundred in intl cricket for nearly 3 yrs (not too long ago). So, getting a hundred even though it's against a weaker opponent is likely to give him a psychological boost for upcoming games. It may be seen as stat padding by many, and maybe they are right. But then that's the way things go. Mariyam and Norman 2 Link to comment

vivek04
This give bad example and now everyone will do this type of things to get their personal milestones. Team is above individual. If this had Been done in final there was no problem but doing in round robin stage is petty Link to comment
