KL Rahul should be reprimanded

While you are right about the fact that KL Rahul refusing single does not have (or have very very minor if at all) effect on NRR or overall result, it is not a good culture if personal milestones are considered more important than team goals. It is not a good culture to be inculcated among team members in the long run. If Kohli wanted a world cup 100, he should have batted faster and got it earlier. Kohli woke up from slow batting only after a 14 run over by KL Rahul when the latter hit a 6 and 4 in the same over.

The important thing to note is the same habit may creep in even if there is a bit more impact on match or the overall tournament. It is a very very bad precedent for the team. Kohli is not a youngster and another simple 100 should NOT be big deal to him.

@coffee_rules is right. At least, KL Rahul and everyone be told to not give importance to individual milestones but I don't think that will be done.

U hv a valid point.  Though I m sure if it were a KO match or a Final,  Kohli (or anyone else) would not hv bothered about the hundred at all.  Another thing worth recalling is that Kohli struggled to get a hundred in intl cricket for nearly 3 yrs (not too long ago).  So, getting a hundred even though it's against a weaker opponent is likely to give him a psychological boost for upcoming games.   It may be seen as stat padding by many, and maybe they are right. But then that's the way things go.

I think I have figured out @coffee_rules game plan here.

Post retirement when he returns to Swades, he plans to become the headmaster/principal of a boarding school.

Picture AB from Mohabbatein.

Anushasan. Parampara. Pratishta.  et al

ICF is where he hones his skill.

gotcha @coffee_rules :sherlock:

You got the order wrong. It is “Parampara, Pratishtha, Anushasan.!!”

No chance.      Even if we lose to all the decent teams remaining (ie Eng, SA & Nz), we should still qualify , as there are 2 more weak opponents to face (SL & Ned).     6 wins are enough to qualify, regardless of NRR.

We are not losing to Eng and SA. I'm wary if NZ because of the 'home' conditions provided to them. :wall:
