Kohli usually struggles against spin.  Especially against left arm spinners. Against Pace, he is good.   On the sluggish Windies pitches, the opponents will fancy their chances by bringing spinners as soon as kohli comes out to bat.     IIRC, Kohli almost played a maiden over against Santner in WT20 2021.  LOL.   And we made 110 in 20 overs while batting 1st.   :phehe:

And who is good against spinners?

please don’t tell me some random IPL player name

Kohli has won two man of the tournament in t20 world cups with brilliant performances in both group stage and knockouts.

His knocks have been outstanding, no one is calling him great because of average.

He has played more clutch knocks in t20 world cups that Ferrari tax thief Sachin did in his career.

Outstanding post great analysis Adamant great job

If KL and/or Jadeja play the WC, I will support Pakistan on 9th June.

If kl Rahul jadeja kohli all play or even one of them play I will root for every other team except india.

If these guys play, the entire lineup, apart from Rohit and Jaiswal, will get choked by left arm spinners. Minus these two and SKY, the rest of the lineup will get owned by leg spin as well.

So he is ready for IPL? Family issues all ok now.

Family issues disappear as soon as IPL Starts, what a coincidence !

I bet if we still had a few more Tests to play from March 22 till April end, Kohli would skip all of them under the excuse of taking care of Anushka and the newborn but now since it's the IPL, he is back to playing Cricket.

Tbf it's good he opted out cause we get to try new players. Otherwise he will hog the spot and ruin careers.

We should kick him out of tests though. He has played enough in the past. Guess passion is gone.

It is completely fair to say that kohli deserves to be in the team more than Rohit. But that guy is our captain now so he is going to play. We should not poke a second hole in our boat in order to balance out the first hole

The boat has constantly failed to reach the destination, so it's already full of holes.

People say don't rock the boat when things are fine, not when you have failed to win a single thing in t20 for 17 years.

P.S. Rohit's innings don't hurt the team as much as Kohli, Kohli regularly plays 50 to 70 balls in an innings in a 120 ball innings barely leaving anything for others. Rohit either hits out or gets out, he doesn't waste balls.

Only in recent times.

Rohit too has played a lot of slow inns in T20 which was good for nothing. Infact Rohit was infamous for taking time at the start.

Heck, even in last T20 WC he was batting like a tortoise alongside KL Rahul at the top.

Only from Asia Cup onwards, he actually has shown the zeal to attack from bowl one, hence generating some sympathy from the fans.

Yes so based on current approach Kohli harms team combination and balance more than Rohit.

Rohit is also the captain so he will go ahead of Kohli on that.

Rohit plays spin quite a bit better too . Doesn't look to defend long hops.

Since when Rohit has become important for t20s, he is the reason along with Dhoni are two biggest reason India has not won one more title.

He and his opening partners have been biggest problem for India in t20 world cup. So called Captain batted like an idiot against England as usual.India has never gotten a fast start in any knockout matches.

Kohli walks into the team over these bozos anyday.

Better  to go with all youngsters 30 below, what have we got to lose ?

Yea in an ideal world that would happen. This "experience" obsessed coaching set up think oppositely. Shastri is correct about how to go with players with no baggage. Young and energetic.

Why didn't he do it in his tenure then? Easy to talk. Thala dragged on for years under him.

Somehow, we have short memories of the Shastri/Kohli era.

Shastri and Kohli played the likes of Dhoni and DK in the 2019 World Cup.

That was one of the worst squads assembled.
