When/How/Why did MI become such a sh!tty team?

MI is at stage 2, their strength was balance which is upset now. Bowling specially spin is weaker. Top order is looking tired and jaded. They are not playing Nehal Wadhera who win matches for them last season.

Seems like Bambai is producing not a single exciting pacer nor spinner.  

Their average side winning Ranji Trophy is a joke in itself.   

MI lacks a genuine young Indian quick and Piyush Chawla playing IPL 2024 as a lead spinner means planning has been pathetic so far.

and how many ranjis are these fast bowling teams winning.Mumbai did the job when needed,others dont have the ability to succeed in ranji .

@Stan AF and me, separately,  after the 2020IPL win made posts about how  groomed its talents and would go on to dominate the IPL scene for the better part of the next decade.

MI management was stupid. Last 2 years they were clearly going through transition. They stuck with the same  captain and built a new core. If they were planning transition that would have been the time to appoint a new captain at least in the 2nd year and start transition. Now they have a core and were comfortable as a unit. Now they go in and bring in another guy who was just part of a new franchise and  involved as captain and alongside team management helped build another core team somewhere else

. It’s common sense that they messed up big time. It’s showing up on the team.

The moment they went for Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer for hefty sum, esp when it was made clear that Archer is not going to play regularly. All those talks of "Imagine Jofra and Bumrah together... ". Well, keep on imagining. 

 

So yeah, basically at the last Mega  Auctions...

The team is still good. We're experiencing the loss of Sky in the first 3 matches. Batting is solid. We're the only team to have 6 indian batters in the top order. It will come into form. Just need to bring in nabi and shepherd and things will fall in place.

 

We still need to find an Indian spinner though.. We haven't found since harbhajan. Rahul chahar was masked by bumrah, boult, malinga. other than that we're fine.

The game yesterday had only underprivileged school kids in the stadium. 
 

The lap of honour was for them. It had nothing to do with the win.
