3 medals just in shooting( 2 of them by one female athlete) literally the whole squad has regressed and filled with people who are nowhere near competitive at Olympic level.

 

Harsh as it is IOC should stop sending sailing, golfers, rowers etc and focus the investment in 2 or 3 sports. Better to send 20 athletes and win 5 medals than 150 and win 1 medal

most of the losses we are calling disappointments were not top players, Like Lakshay they were mostly only outside chances needing luck to favor them which did not happen.   Kusale was a surprise medal. otherwise, we hardly had any real confident medal contender whom we could say yes he will win with 100% confidence, not even Manu.

I absolutely don't find anything wrong with his fitness. Infact Sen was moving better than that guy. Just that shot selection was poor. TOo many lobs with open court allowed Lee to come back.

Japan were 2 sets and had 2 match points against World Champions Italy in Men's Volleyball.

Converted zilch. Doubt if we will match Tokyo now. Only a miracle from wrestlers can save us. Except hockey and wrestling all our other sportsmen need mental conditioning. Have seen too many won games lost

4th place finish is not bad for Lakshya. He is WR12 and unseeded here. 

Disappointed as we are, beating Christie here was a big achievement. 

He needs to learn from it and move on.

I reember playing table tennis in the final  with one of the state champion in my college contest. I was able to go 9-9, But then he brought his A game. I did not score a single point after that 21-9. THoroughly thrashed me. You can try all you want. BUt when the opponent plays a better game you have to play outside your capacity to beat a superior opponent.  So you need a bit of luck.
