Make Goenka BCCI head or head of selection committee. We want players with "winning mentality" and Goenka will make it happen by kicking out these done & dusted duo.

 

Sad to say but Goenka is the only voice of reason and who has the balls to do so. If Goenka had been watching the match today he would've ran after Kohli with a wicket in hand after Kohli threw his wkt away as usual via run out this time.

 

Even that useless shyte Siraj wouldn't be immune from wrath of Goenka. At least Goenka can get player like Harshit Rana in the side - who can actually bowl and bat.

If you don't want him to play against NZ, they should've sent him with Ind A to play Aus A. The poor guy has been on the bench forever and watching Siraj shyte the bed. Even he would be wondering how can he be any worse than Siraj.

It may not be a selector problem, it may be a team problem that maybe only BCCI chief with balls of steel like a Dalmiya or a Ganguly can fix. 
Because, maybe the seniority culture has set in the whole team - even Gill has been touted as 'being ahead in pecking order' when injured -nevermind the fact that you are never ahead of anyone in the pecking order as a top order batsman in your early 20s with a sub-40 batting average after more than a dozen tests. 


So what do you do,as selector or coach, if 80% of the team IS unionized in 'muh seniority' crap ? Cant drop the entire team and say 'yeah we kept Bumrah+Jaddu+Jaiswal, now we have 8 new dudes'...this may just be like union negotiation that middle management can't fix- the fix has to come from the top management itself if it involves union worker kirkut players now.


Ever since this generation came to play, the Indian cricket team has shown the balls to drop only one good player in its roster for anyreason and that guy is Ashwin, but even then, its not a 'u sit down coz u aint good enough for india right now' drop, its always '2 spinner dont need and jaddu wins sorry buddy' kind of oversupply drop. 


ALL our big players know that their retirement from the team will be like a govt. karyakartya retirement - keep that date circled for years and plan ur nautanki over it, coz u know, thats ur retirement day.

this indicates harshit wont be playing in the first test 11 in BGT- means Great chances for Prasidh to be in the final 11 with akash , boom and may be Siraj Or nitish reddy. Priority among pacers seems to be BOOM, AKASH, PRASIDH, SIRAJ, HARSHIT and Nitish can come in as AR or the 4th pacer with Jaddu/ washington. no team can have 4 tailenders so akash/boom/prasidh/siraj - all 4 cant play- 3/4 will play , harshit/nitish may compete - one of  them will play or may be NONE. Jaddu/washington - one of them will play.

AS GG is shrewd he may look to pick SAI and/or PADDIKKAL also in the main team as a replacement to some one or as additional member.

he has a set of pacers already in the first test so he wont pick Mahesh or khaleel from reserves ( as Saini's under performance has put in down and out) . but i have a feeling he may declare some pacers as unfit if he feels they are not doing well( normally a pacer under performs when he is carrying a niggle anyway)

seeing today's bowling Saini looks like one who urgently requires a ticket to fly back to INDIA...

There is distinct lack of severe criticism from journalists. The way the propaganda machines work is if you criticize Kohli an army will question "What about Rohit".  So when these commentators criticize they should criticize every single guy that is a liability.  Siraj, Kohli, Rohit.

Harshit deserves to play. Reddy is more of a batsman who can bowl for relief.

Agree. People outside the cricket ecosystem who are unafraid of backlash will do a better job of selecting teams. Former cricketers are too much at the mercy of current superstar cricketers for future recommendations and for avoiding a backlash and negative campaigns from these star cricketers who have a huge PR army are capable of unleashing.
