Gollum
8 years after Dhoni got Harsha Bhogle removed from commentary for passing a critical remark, we have this. How shameless is this guy? Gavaskar reserved most of his bile for youngsters, especially Pant.....was only defending the seniors despite their terrible returns. Makes me wonder if our seniors had anything to do Sunny not being invited for the trophy handing ceremony after conclusion of Sydney test. Popular Post Gollum
Forget his pathetic batting, fitness, captaincy, catching etc. The way he came back to snatch captaincy from Bumrah after Perth, his SCG interview (especially how he ran down captaincy prospects of his juniors, emotional dramebaazi), on-field abuse towards youngsters like Sarfaraz/Jaiswal, absolute lack of responsibility for home whitewash, the targetted campaign against Pandya last IPL, his pathetic PR campaign this BGT, constant lies (like claiming credit for wins where he had no role).....even as a human being, I have a very low opinion of him now. MK55
What a self-entitled delusional moron. He should be thrown out right away. And also that 'BCCI top brass' for entertaining this non sense. For a moment I genuinely thought he was referring to Gavaskars criticism of Pant. raki05 and Gollum 1 1 Link to comment
Gollum
How is BCCI putting up with this non-stop clown show? Their authority is being challenged on a daily basis for 4 months now, last time things looked this bleak was 2011-12. Yet no change despite losing everything of importance post T20 WC win. This recent test run is more embarrassing than the 2011-12 disasterclass. Edited January 27 by Gollum rollingstoned 1 Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
Can't wait for the two cancers - Rohit and Kohli - to be kicked out of Indian cricket. The returns we've received from them after playing nearly 2 decades is minimal. You back any domestic player for nearly 2 decades and you get similar or better results. Their legacy is making India a laughing stock, hogging credit away from bowlers & lower order, and throwing youngsters under the bus. If BCCI has any shame or integrity left they would simply cut the cord saying enough is enough. mani sha, Gollum, rollingstoned and 4 others 5 2 Link to comment
wanted_desi
I am hoping that he scores no runs in CT and then IPL as well. As soon as he is thrown out, better would it be for Indian Cricket. Gollum 1 Link to comment
Gollum
Gavaskar is a giant, mostly will be safe. But imagine the pressure smaller names (even likes of Pathan, Bhogle, Kaif etc.) will be under, never mind no name journalists who travel as part of the press/media team. No wonder all our experts, commies, ex-players walk on egg shells when it comes to these superstars. Broadcasters make their coverage all about hero worship of these 1-2 players, rest is side show. For people that matter in Indian cricket, these big names are bigger than the sport, bigger than the country they represent. Dhoni started this rot (Bhogle ban was unjustifiable even though I am no fan of his commentary/hosting skills), now being taken to new heights. Things were so much better in Fab 4 era, where press could question even Sachin openly. Edited January 27 by Gollum nevada, rollingstoned, Laaloo and 3 others 1 5 Link to comment

He should have called it quits right after the T20 WC win. What better chance than that for a 37 year old to go out on a high? Instead he has decided to egregiously overstay his welcome despite embarrassing loss of form. What is he hoping to achieve by hanging on? Is he going to get younger or have a glorious resurgence of form? Gollum 1 Link to comment
Frustrated
It is evident that Rohit Besharma is stuck in the past. He keeps living in the delusion of having won the WT20 title. With just 1 ICC title, he thinks he is among the best captains Ind ever had. He would probably never realise that he averages less than Bumrah with the bat in last 12 test innings. Hitman has basically been living it up and not looked back since he was called in as opener after Agarwal and Shaw were dropped following the 36 AO. tapandrun
Trend started with Dhoni , when every1 was dispensable when it came to talking anything which was deemed as against of him. Now it has carried into these starts like rohit, kolhi, pandaya, etc.... Sachin, Gangully, Dravid, Kumble all were criticized but never went after ppl like this yes they had differences. but unable to criticize a losing captain is recent thing ..... Texan
BCCI laid this dangerous precedent with letting Dhoni decide on commentators. Now, Rohit, Kohli and even future superstars will exploit it to ensure that only good things are spoken about them in the commentary. To be honest, I actually found Gavaskar's commentary to be too meek on experienced players. He always reserves his harshest comments for youngsters, particularly for Pant. For Rohit, Kohli, he pretty much justifies all their actions. So the fact that Rohit even complained about this is so ridiculous. Basically, he doesn't want anybody to even say that he played a bad shot when he got out. That's what I have been saying: for these guys, brand value is all that matters. They don't give a damn about winning. GoldenSun, Gollum and Ultimate_Game 1 2 Link to comment

Ultimate_Game
Couldn't score against NZ at home and saw us get white-washed at home for the first time in our history. Couldn't do shyte against Aus and in fact took a winning team and turned them into losers. Can't even score against J&K and led to Mumbai's humiliating loss against J&K. And on top of that has audacity to complain! That lard of bucket should've been kicked on his backside and dropped from the team. He doesn't even deserve to play in domestic cricket, and BCCI have allowed him to turn Indian team into his personal fiefdom. Norman, Gollum and rollingstoned 2 1 Link to comment
