aving said that, I will very much rule out India accepting they lost any planes. From a National Security pov, they can never release such data in the name of transparency. Why should it be transparent in that matter? Showng weaknesses is detrimental to future war efforst.

I think its also a mentality issue. India have mostly always been on the defensive in the west along jnk and punjab historically. They try to push the issue and then end up with errors. Pakistan is the same. Go to attack and leave holes.

 

Huge gap in indian and pak navies. But airforce the gap appears to be narrowest.

I don’t think PLAA is battle tested - Pak has been preparing for events like this only. 
 

I would love to see how impactful S400 snow - against PAFs possible retaliation - S400 is meant to detect and take out airborne PAF jets that are 300 kms deep inside Pak territory.

we need S400 as a missile shield for the worst case scenario to protect our capital. That's a strategic choice. Once we did that, we were never gonna get Amreeki jets.

 

Rafale is fine, IAF's problem isn't just equipment, its overall tactics, deployment, and execution. THey aint up to snuff and need to get their **** together.  Yesterday.

I am a taxpayer here and I know how much of tax dollars, economy has been diverted into funding the wars in Afg, Iraq, now Ukraine to take revenge after 9/11. It's not just economy. the legacy of an empire is at stake for USA.

China surprisingly has given a lip service called "Regrettable" and moved on to usual platitudes. I expected a condemnation. But they would prefer a productive india rather than the land of suicide bombers.

Pakistan simply cannot deny (like uri etc) india has struck 100km inside their territory. Its accepted.

 

Unlike 2019 when they captured abhinandan they also have no direct proof that jets were downed given indian jets have not left indian territory. They can only claim.

 

So this has been designed by Iaf to ensure Pakistan can claim but not verify.

 

However, ultimately we can overwhelm pakistan. We cannot do so with china. So if losses have happened this needs to be asked why.

Pakistani will retaliate. Its matter of time only. We will loose lives and weapons for nxt 2 months. Lets accept this fact that War on Western MSM has only one winner. Pakistan

The Chinese had recently given 240 PL-15 AAM's to PAF. 

 

Wouldn't be surprised if they have taken down 3 of ours.

Pak's entire focus is India and defense.  It is easier to design the acquisition strategy that way. And Pak does not have any sort of indigenous manufacturing. So they simply prostate before chinks and get the equipment. 

 

India has to concentrate on Defense and deep strike abilities also. And also satisfy the "Swadeshi Only" gang. Difficult to define acquisition strategy for these many objectives. 

 

Mudiji wants swadeshi. But our generals are not confident. 

 

 

Again, this is my 2p opinion. Resident experts can chime in.

well if rafale has indeed been shot down...then generals need a new strategy

 

We are better off inducting masses of new planes which while not great in quality are expendable.

 

People say Russian tech is poor, but it is designed to be cheap so that losses can easily be absorbed.

And believe me in our stand off vs China, the MIg29 was a star given that so called fancy Chinese jets were struggling with engine issues due to thin air.

 

What India needs is a desi version of Mig29 which is 4.5 gen and can be produced in masses.

 

Like it or not the JK17 is a garbage plane that can be produced and lost at will. 

 

 

Lets see which plane Pakistan uses to retaliate. Onus on them to attack soonish. India to defend. If F16 used and is downed then USA will be unhappy. If Chinese J10 used and downed then China will be unhappy. Considering our geographical depth in order to hit anything of major value Pak will need to cross over.
