Oval Invincibles Hundred team to be renamed ‘MI London’ at request of Ambani

The Hundred’s most successful franchise, Oval Invincibles, are expected to rebrand as MI London, the first choice of their Indian co-owners.

The name change, which will take place for 2026, will bring the franchise in line with the rest of the Ambani family’s Mumbai Indians stable.

The Hundred will undergo a number of major changes next year when a new ownership model formally takes over, with the host venues running teams alongside new investors, who have bought at least 49 per cent of each team.

Surrey are entering a partnership with the richest family in Asia, the Ambanis, who have bought 49 per cent of Oval Invincibles in an auction which valued the franchise at £123m.

No idea but I would expect most of the teams to be financed by Indian businesses and IPL owners.
