ungboysj Posted March 9 Posted March 9 It's because op is old so world cup wins doesn't excite him anymore Frustrated 1
jf1gp_1 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 We knew result at half time which was confirmed by the 6th over into power play. Reverse the semi with final at this would have been called greatest final. velu 1
nevada Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I would argue that this WC had the most aura in recent memory. India had an invincible aura plus home crowd support. Saffers had aura till they crashed out in the semis. England had aura given their success across multiple LOI formats and explosive playing style. Manucrick, maniac, velu and 2 others 5
Gambit Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I want an Indian win everytime regardless of the margin. If I want to be entertained, I login to Netflix. velu, Mariyam, neel roy and 1 other 1 1 2
Bigg Brother Posted March 9 Posted March 9 This was similar to Australia winning wc final against NZ In 2015 at MCG. So much hype of Baz who got out in first over itself and Aussies winning easily. Tillu, maniac and velu 1 2
Lone Wolf Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Just watched replay in the end.. Ravi bewda completely ruined the moment. I hope this is the last we see of him in ICC tournaments @Gollum someone like Ian Smith and Ian Bishop would have made it iconic rollingstoned and Gollum 2
maniac Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 Woke up today to see if anything changed or if the win has sunk in, still feels meh!!! Yay we won but too desensitized. Let’s hope 2027 wc is aura filled :)

daryl1985 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 It did not feel special because it was very one-sided. However, also with the tournament being in India, there has been a lot of negativity towards India and especially the BCCI influence within cricket. In the past few weeks we have seen - Non-Asians being unhappy with the Bangladesh situation. - The Pakistan threat to boycott the India game. - Non-Indians being unhappy with the change in pitch conditions after the defeat to South Africa. - Have also seen people on X/twitter accusing of India doctoring conditions mid-game (more swing for Indian seamers than English seamers etc). It feels like many in cricket feel that the deck was loaded in our favour, more so than any past tournament and maybe that filtered down to our fans. GoldenSun 1
Tillu Posted March 9 Posted March 9 As we keep winning more tournaments, it will start feeling like just another day like this. Australia when they won the 1999 world cup they received great reception from the, Aussie crowd with open top parades and everything. Now nobody bats an eye even if they win anything substantial. You will treasure something only when it's scare and difficult to get.

Asia cup last year was off the charts exciting and fun. i think 2002 CT win comes close to being this auraless. feels like we won some random bilateral series lol. anyone else feel the same? Aus felt the same when they won 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023. Plus the t20 final in 2021. Plus the 2 CTs. They have always made it one sided. So no complaints. We have all ours in tight matches 1983, 2011, 2013 CT, 2025 CT, 2007, 2024. Finally we won one hands down.
