Bu biggest what if is - What if Rohit was given White ball captaincy straight away in 2017 with Kohli just remaining the test captain? Another what if is Dhawan getting injured and forced to sit out of the tournament. He is typically clutch plus left handed and would have provided stability at one end.

Cummins debuted at 19, and then was injured and did not play tests for another FIVE years with different injuries. He only played couple of matches/series in between these years in other formats and had 4 different major injuries and some other minor ones. Yet the Australian board consistently backed him without any returns, for 5 freaking years and then reaped the results. Bumrah had them, Starc had them, if you are fast, you get injured in initial part. Things like stress fractures make you stronger Its about how the board supports you and encourages you when you get injured as a fast bowler, which matters Edited June 15 by New guy BacktoCricaddict 1

Rameshs last series was against Srilanka.They had to accomodate VVS, Sehwag, Deep Dasgupta and Connor Williams from Baroda during the whimsical zonal selections in the next series against Saffers and he was the fall guy.. Very few test matches in the early 2000s and once he was dropped,he had no way to come back
