Anil Kumble calls an emergency meeting with Dhoni, kohli,dravid, Selectors, NCA coaches.

I have been keenly following for past few days all the news pieces of as to how kumble is approaching his work. There have been some very impressive moves by him . Talking about the meeting 1st Kumble has invited Dhoni, Kumble, Dravid , National n junior selector with NCA Coaches to plan a roadmap for future. He wants to make sure that every player in the system is being monitored at all times. Say a fast bowler is injured or he’s more of a Test specialist and is on the sidelines when the team’s playing a ODI series, Kumble wants routine reports on what they are up to as well.

Other Things that he has bought to the table was seen in the camp help at NCA

 

1. Changing the plan of 2 day camp to a 6 day intense camp.

2. Inviting India-A squad players and local ranji side players to the part of camp. I hope this doesnt stick to only karnataka side in future but to all sides where ever they play.  Its a gr8 move as he gets a chance to closely monitor A-squad players. A bowler like Aaron feels a part of team. A squad bowlers n batsman get to face national players and learn from them.

3.1st time ever a wk was seen standing behind batsman during a net session.

4.  Tailenders were given long batting sessions to improve their batting. (if signs are to be beilved Shami, ishant n umesh might play 1st test) 

5.  Kl rahul was made to stand n watch kohli while he was having a net session to observe him which a g8 thing to do.                                           

6. All bowlers were asked to bowl at virat with full intensity to get him out which will help their confidence and improve their consistency.

7. Huge amount of time is being spend to work on shikhar dhawan's off side issues. 

8. He has been talking about having a fast bowling coach soon which is a gud sign.

9. Few Net session have been done with an objective to counter reverse swing. 

10. Binny,Saha have been given extended batting sessions against new ball as they are likely to face 2nd new ball in most scenarios

Im not sure how the future may turn for the team but such small small things do make a difference and far better than sleeping fletcher ever did or loud talker shastri. Atleast he is making some good moves and working with all dept.

Great initiative by Kumble.This shows he has some clear ideas how he is going to perform his duties.

I hope he unhearth some new talents & regular failures are shown the door

Kumble is here to stay. Min 4 years unless he turns out to be hopelessly bad, which is highly unlikely.

From everything I see, signs R good, he is prepared n working on a plan in past Dhoni n Fletcher had none.

 

Worries R seeing VK n co, hopefully he gets to see talent n is proactive in building a side which none have done since Ganguly n we cannot rely on selectors as previous 2 were useless with this group as worse

Its not going to be easy.I still see a very poor team overseas which will have major trouble taking 20 wickets in a game.If we lose home game and series then he wont stay for more than a year,rooting for you Jumbo.

You R wrong with Dhoni not at the center, the team ain't poor, good batting average bowling, difference is Kohli we will win or draw in WI

Its just sad to read these kind of comments. Its as if Dhoni and fletcher would just turn up an hr before any match and then strategize. Beside if in your opinion Kumble is doing all the right things then how come he call dhoni and not virat ? 

 

By the way last time Dhoni went to WI he won the test series .

Dhoni was never a proactive captain or tried to strengthen the team or bench n had his sidekicks, never changed the team n caused a great loss talent wise, Fletcher was a yes man n never did anything substantial.

 

Kumble had a meeting with both Kohli n Dhoni,i F Dhoni cared enough he would have quit sometime back after 3 years of pathetic losses n no wins in tests.

 

Dhoni was only good in limited ODi format n only could ply n strategize in one way n was limited never knew how to build a side, use bowlers , especially pacers, also his records are pathetic as test captain n player.

Dhoni was always a reactionary, street smart captain and this showed most in tests. Trying to bowl negative lines from spinners and strangling opposition does not take much strategy. His strategies hardly changed in years of test cricket

LOL just ignore some of the blind haters and concentrate on other good discussions. 

BTW he didn't call virat? I saw in news yesterday that virat was involved in the meeting too. He should be as he is the current and long time captain. 

@Bold: Maybe because Last time we won when we toured WI and MSD was captain.?

Australia was a champion side n they won not because of Stage Waugh , or Printing as Dhoni bhakta give him all credit, it should be said in T20 n tests whatever we won was despite of him not because of him

Kohli is a Test captain now, so obviously he's worth more than anything Dhoni can offer with his stale captaincy. Dhoni fangirls are being delusional here thinking the meeting can go ahead without the presence of Kohli.

Anil kumble organised a music event for Team India player in bengaluru in order to increase team bonding. Video available on BCCI website.

I feel BCCI is trying hard  to undo the 'rift ' bit that was encouraged by the likes of the cheer leader between the two skippers.The fact that almost all regulars in all formats  including skippers were included in this camp shows that. This could also be a reason cheer leader did not find support.
