It it start spinning when we play lol

Messed up

If England bat till tea. We may be just fine. Its the end of third and then fourth inning where we will see Messed up bit. Cos we will be batting fourth unless pith is designed to bring crampt to one English seamer.

IF this team plans to become a top side for many years, there shouldnt be pitch talk.

I agree with home advantage but its not bad to be tested on diff surface at home once in a while. U need to have the exp of playing in diff conditions. Come overseas no curator will ask u how much u want the pitches to be dry.

We are so use to playing on turners that a good batting wkt on day one is being questioned.

Pitch is fine - traditional Indian pitch - batting friendly, the 1st couple of days.  India better match England's batting in the 1st innings.  I'm still hopeful of keeping Pommies below 425 - don't know how, but hopeful.

Exactly this is a traditional wkt, we dropped 3 catches and thats the issue. 3 drops are way to much.

So many full tosses, how does pitch come ion play when u give freebies like that

Eh no. India wont win this test. England with the depth they have in batting will easily score 550 odd and either declare or all out. Then its a catching game for India. Play fantastic cricket to salage a draw or you will lose. The pitch will detoriate as well as the game progress. No way India winning this test.

This is very plausible:

Between Lunch and Tea on Day 2, England all out for 520 odd.

End of day 2, India is 140/2

India Bats whole of day 3 and is all out around 500 early day 4.

End of day 4, England all out 190

India needs roughly 230 to win the test on Day 5

remove turners and indian bowling attack becomes THIS...

To be fair if they held on to their catches England would have been in a spot of bother.

Overall it is a good pitch, assists seamers early on and should take spin by day 3 on.

The proof will be at the end of the match, but if it turns out that it offers a big advantage to the team that wins the toss, or produces a tame draw, then it is not a good pitch. At least the Bangladesh dustbowls were consistent to both teams throughout the match

This pitch offers an advantage to the team batting first that can bat big. Are you claiming that you'd prefer to see tracks that turn a lot more all throughout?.

Yes. Not so much that it becomes too bowler friendly, but it would be fair to both sides and make the toss less important. The match would be decided on who can bat better against spin and bowl spin the best.

Well that's an utopian thought but toss is a factor on most pitches.   And its not like it gives you the game, you still have to make it count and bat big first up.  It would be tough to come up with "designer" wickets that stay uniform.

It would be interesting to convert the toss into an auction - i.e. teams can bid and counterbid for first choice with runs - i.e. maybe its worth spotting say, a 40 run lead in order to bat first on such a flat track.  Would add a whole new dimension to a team's decision making.

Does India have 4th Inn specialists to bat through last 4-5 sessions to eke a draw? That's what will matter from now.

Gambhir (of old form), Dravid and Laxman were the capable ones. Who is gonna do it on day 4 and 5 now?

Gambo, M00Li, Chet - Rest are not the best at batting time.

Yes I do get what your saying, and you do still have to get the runs, or take the wickets if it's a green top, after winning the toss.

Step back from the ledge finey. It's 311-4 not 650-6. We still have a chance.

India was bowled out for 316 against NZ which was also a flat deck..Given the England bowling and batsmen's "aggressive" batting,I dont think we could have crossed 400 if batted first here..That is some excellent batting supported by rubbish fielding.
