I think generally any great player who dsnt rub it in d opposite team's n der fans face on or off d field when he wins will hv a fan following everywhere..

Dhoni won  world cup and world t20 as a captain, averages 50 in ODI, was the best finisher of the game for a long long time in his prime. Led a much hated IPL team to multiple cups. 0-11 overseas in a period when greats had declined and then retired.

 

Rohit is an extraordinary ODI bat - sucks in tests ( gets hate in tests).

In his prime he was praised, just like EVERY SINGLE PLAYER here was praised when he did well and ABUSED when he did not. Dhoni hate is not even 1% of Sachin hate for years which still continues as there are posts about his personal life and demeaning him constantly

agree on Sachin hate, but some of it is measured such as his aim for personal milestones.
