not a choice, but jadhav looked injured there, might sit out for pandey. having selected yuvi for odi1, doesnt make sense to drop him for pandey. no other changes to ring in.

Jadhav was just cramping up. Dont think it's a serious injury.

Bhuvi for Umesh

Pandey for Yuvraj

Mishra for Ashwin

Unfortunately, Axar is not in the team. Would have preferred Axar over Jadeja because Jadeja is just incapable of hitting out in final overs. Axar's ODI bowling is comparable to Jadeja and batting wise, Axar seems to have a better ability to clear the ropes.

I never like Umesh in ODI cricket. He is just too risky and double edged sword.

Nathu and Sran have good LOI skills and could be developed to replace Umesh / Bhuvi  when Shami is rested.  Even Siraj  can be looked into.

Interestingly, in yesterday's match, Umesh bowled 11 good to decent yorkers in his last 13 balls...and i never saw him do this before.

but field placement was poor and some of those went for 4 through off side.

Yes....proper field was not set for continuous yorkers.

Then why was he bowling yorkers or why was he not asking for the right field?

LOL at the excuses that keep flowing when Umesh gets clobbered at 9 an over.

Only bhuvi in place of umesh, just to see how much has he improved

We all knw what are we going to get with umesh, lets see has bhuvi improved

Kohli will force the selectors to make the change. We have two chances to win the series, by winning this game or the next.

I can almost 100% guarantee that Umesh will be replaced by Bhuvi. Batting order and batsmen will remain the same.

Swapping Bhuvi for Umesh does not change the team dynamics nor batting order, arguably even strengthens it.

I hope Kohli opens with Bhuvi and Bumrah (3 overs) then Pandya. He may try something different and introduce Jadeja inside the first 5 overs.

Where does selectors come in to this???

Bumrah cant bowl with new ball , he himself acknowledges that .

After that kind of defeat i dnt see england coming back

I still believe England can pull one back if they chase and the pitches remain flat. Hopefully not.:afraid:

While chasing dew comes in play

I doubt that in cuttack (correct me if m wrong) Edens would have dew.

But its a mental game and such defeats can actually make a team believe - after scoring 350 and taking oppp 4 wkts at 60 if we still cant win then how do we win. Also their captain is not in form and is under clouds of self doubts.

I think the India - SL odi in cuttack (2014) was affected by dew.

I get your point about the psychological blow from the first ODI but I still think if Eng can restrict us to below 300, then they are in with a good chance if there is dew as our spinners would then be ineffective.

Batting is too weak. Luckily Jadhav played gem of a inning and dew must have played its part. But our batting was completely exposed. Drop Yuvi as we dont need  his bowling skills. All English took was 3 balls to get him out.

Mishra was Man of the series last odi series but he is dropped. He must play, may be in place of either opening bowlers
