Hey MSK Prasad, learn from Pak selectors

Recommended Posts

i wnt blame selectors alone, its the culture thats been developed in last few yrs which isnt even entirely wrong that u have to go through A teams 1st. Pant n sundar have been given chances. N to be honest u cnt throw in guys for the sake of it only ...they have to earn it as well . This time also chahar n krunal have been given chances instead of going back to dhawal n unadkat

On other hand the regular going back to tried n tested failure is worth criticism .

When we compare it to pakistan, well its a bad a team n its has no option left and their 3 top players retired which has left gaps in team. So it the way KL rahul has been treated

A team under re-building n well build unit will always have diff approach

Dhoni as WK is an asset in the team. His stumpings are now at a different level... he compliments our spinners. Kuldeep would prefer Dhoni over any other WK. Dhoni on top of it also helps in field settings etc.

That said, there’s no justification if him, Raina, Rohit etc playing in Mickey Mouse T20 matches. Imagine the kind of performances Pant and company would’ve given on this tour.

But England tours are usually relaxing, holiday tours with families after gruelling IPL. And top, established players usually don’t like to miss it.

In all this the Indian selectors have probably no say. They are just rubber stamps.

Msk Prasad,Sarandeep Singh,Gagan Khoda among them have played maximum of 15-20 games so they have no stature and 0 power to call the shots.

Also it’s wrong to compare Pak & Indian selectors...

Pak selectors have backing of the board.

Indian contract A players have the backing of the board over selectors, managers & coaches...

Pakistan always tries out rookie unknown players depending upon their talent pool.

Indian talent pool is much bigger and more competitive. Also in Indian teams the Advertisers & sponsors too have their say which can’t definitively be said about Pak advertisers & sponsors.

There’s a reason why HaPa, KLR etc do too much show baazi. Any player having good portfolio of Advertisers puts enough pressure on BCCI & selectors to select the player.

Not heard of any Pak player management companies. India has multiple of them and they too influence selection (or non selection)...

They carried Afridi in their team due to that reason.

Ranji then India A and then selection. You do well in India A you should be selected. Should not fast track anyone ever. Pakistan can do that as they dont have much batting talent. In India you have to go through these stages. Nothing wrong with that if done properly.

Rahane in ODIs, Pandey in T20s, Raina doesn't have much talent anymore to perform in ODIs and T20s. It is better to take risk with some youngsters than keep going back to these tested failures. Hell, even we were selecting Yuvraj till last year. That was such a waste of time.

But in this instance it was a  bowler who was fast tracked

This. There is a reason why Padosis get whitewashed even by Lankans at home.We have a process and people has to go through that and prove their mettle.
