Trichromatic
Generally team even at best has got into groove from 2nd test and first day of first test is usually tough day for Indian team. Flat pitch, little bit of support and good bowling today has probably made it best opening day overseas. AK007, Rightarmfast, Gollum and 5 others 1 7 Link to comment
Vilander
One of the best and more to come in the series. This is a good team, when Bumrah comes back and eventually Bhuvi..they will be very strong. beetle and Rightarmfast 2 Link to comment
Gollum
I would think so. We are firmly in the driving seat, I sense a big 1st innings lead for us . Edited August 1, 2018 by Gollum Link to comment
DHONI_FANN
It would have been our best had we taken our catches beetle 1 Link to comment

Ind have to bat great tomorrow against Broad and Anderson to score - amazing test series in offing after a long time..its delightful. Gollum 1 Link to comment
coffee_rules
285 and assuming the DK drop will cost another 15-20 runs, 300 is a big score for Eng bowling and India batting . Everyone is a walking wicket on the Indian side, they will all go aggressive and nobody to bat around now that Pujara is dropped. raki05 1 Link to comment
Ankit_sharma03
Lets also give england credit, they were ordinary at their home coffee_rules 1 Link to comment

Jimmy Cliff
Bloemfontein 2001 was better I think. Went from 70/4 to 372/7 with a mega entertaining partnership between SRT and Viru. Stan AF, adi B, Laaloo and 3 others 1 5 Link to comment

I wudnt be very confident on us scoring 450, two early wickets we will most likely concede a lead. Just don't know what to expect from this pinup. Rahane is the only one I trust completely. But hey its a test match one ball is all it take to change the course.. Link to comment

Forever Indian
From just what I remember we had a great Day 1 in SA test series 2013/14 - 255/5 on Day 1 on a spicy pitch against Steyn, Philander and Morkel (we went on to have a lead after 1st innings) GoldenSun 1 Link to comment

cricketpitch
We have had better opening days in the past, couple of them come to memory: 2003/04 Pakistan tour, India finish on 350 odd for 2 with Sehwag batting on 220+ 2009 NZ tour, Bowling out NZ for 279 and being 20 odd for no loss at the end of first day. Like Zak kble bhajji etc Ashwin is sole Rider. Has garbage around him - Umesh pandya and ishant will not make any other international team B team let alone first team His wickets today we're 3 match winners and one guy broad who can score a quick 50 Do you get paid or something when you say "Ashwin the greatest Indian cricketer" ?
