It looks like 4-1 but the results do not show how close it was. Couple of breaks and it could have been 3-2 India. It has also exposed Shastri as the fraud he is and hopefully there would be better team selection next time.

Bowling,it was world class and that too without bhuvi .indian seam attack is relentless and with the 5th bowler I.e pandya in the fray ,they look fresh for every spell

Rishab Pant . Should have debuted an year ago. Still at least found long term solution at WK.

Bumrah reaffirmed his quality as test bowler .

Found a very good slip catcher in Rahul.

Hopefully should be the End of Dhawan as test cricketer.

The biggest positive wud be IF kohli has learned its better to back youngsters then TTFs

Pant emerged as  some one who belongs to.

Kohli emerged as complete batsman

Hardik Pandya,Ravindra Jadeja & Ashwin proved they can be  worth as all rounders in alien countries too

 

Pujara,Shami,Rahul,Kartik  proved  that  'we need players who turns out to to be great in at least 2 of SENA  in the first cycle itself  ' so that they can form vital components of  the team there by team can win/draw/lose narrowly  in these countries.If proven inadequacies  like the above said  names are persisted with,    convincing defeats are the inevitable  results series after series in SENA.

On the contrast Sachin/Saurav/Dravid/Laxman/Sehwag are the testimonies to what I said. Those days it was not SENA, we can add WI & ZIM(led by Andi Flower)  too into that list .Not only that 2 or 3 of these  test batsmen need to be highly succesful in one dayers too. And of course bring in as much as left right combo in batting as possible.

 

Sastri  is  worth only as a useless parasite

 

Kohli is not that worth a captaincy material even w.r.t tosses.

 

Fast bowlers bowled brilliantly.

 

Dhawan is an utter failure as a test opener and need to be replaced with some deserving candidate  ASAP(the most chronic disease of all that needs immediate surgery).

Bumrah ,Ishant ,Pujara ,Kohli & Pant did well. Lots of voices against Dhawan & Shastri & team selection.

He backed Rahul for the final test. He picked Pant, and gave chance to Vihari in the final test. So looks like finally he is changing his ways. Let's hope he continues on this path and stops adamantly picking past sell by date oldies.

Today, Gavaskar gave a interview and softly put it that captain needs more experience( allthough in reality our captain has 4 years of test cricket captaincy) and should and must learn quickly.

yeah ...we must expect Rahane to be  absolutely marvellous in all  alien countries he plays in . He already avg:s 50+ in 3 countries out  4  in SENA, that too from the comparatively lower 5th or 6th position in general . His only  modest returns as of now is in ENG with an almost 30 avg: . From the previous era , even the most successful of all of those great batsmen, the legendary Sachin avg:ed  <50 in 2 out of 4 in SENA. But with Rahane, any thing  less than  being brilliant in 4 out of 4 in SENA is a guilt and inadequacy .Isn't it???
