Pakistan team is in tatters

Recommended Posts

Reports of grouping led my Malik against Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz has let Malik & co know if he goes down then so will they.

Public witnessing them out on Saturday night at a sheesha lounge until early hours of Sunday (2am) causing mass media speculation & hysteria.

Team seen at a burger joint..including bowling coach Azhar Mahmood.

Inzi meddling with team selection.

Sarfaraz not given the team he wanted (wanted to drop Malik & Imad) but Inzi & Mickey apparently refused.

Etc etc etc

Not shocking. This bickering is not new as well. An age-old problem in Pakistan cricketing culture. They need a guy like Misbah now. An educated guy with a stable mind. Of all the 0-7 thrashings in the world cup, Misba's XI came close to breaking the streak. Sarfraz has to earn his place first before having meltdowns on the field.

You mean a guy who protects himself at #5 making sure he never comes anywhere near the new ball, team requirements be damned.  As long as he scores a "fighting" 50 in a respectable loss its all good.

I mean their team doesn't need great creative brains. THey just need a captain who can hold the team together. Not screaming at players after each bad ball after each misfield. It will eventually come back to hurt him.

It seems Malik is showing his true Indian colors. By India giving him there women he has finally decided to follow orders of there government to destroy Pakistan inside and out. I bet this man has been secretly wearing a Indian cricket jersey inside his green one.

Malik , reportedly was old by his wife " don;t come home if you scored more than 10 runs  against India ". Pandya made Shaoib's job even easier.

The 'infighting' is the standard operating procedure for Pak when beaten in WC or any high profile match..it's easier to use this excuse rather then reflect on lack of skilled players and physical ability within Pak cricket to compete with India.

Pak fluked the CT 2017 which only papered over the massive cracks.

1) Firstly look at the physical shape of players, fitness wise Pak players are in worst shape compared to India, Bangla and SL players. The captain is a fatso, no brainer Imam is related to Inzi, Hafeez runs like a pregnant woman, Imad moves slower than Oshane Thomas, Pak players in the field are right out of those 1980s cricket clips - it's a total car crash when it comes to diving stops

2) You recall a player (Wahab) into ODI setup after being ignored for 2 years - it's not to do with politics but purely lack of an alternative

3) Pak's most athletic player is 37 year old, Malik, jack of all trades but master on none, again a player who debuted in the last century pointing to lack of alternatives

4) Pakistani players can't play short pitched stuff because they are not fearless - the old adage Asian players struggle against bounce, now only applies to Pak batsmen and Raina, if Bangla batsmen smashed the WIndies quicks

5) Pakistan gives leeway to fixers and chuckers, which only breeds and encourages this at domestic and grass root level. I find it shocking Pak have allowed Amir to play international cricket and now even treat as a hero.

Don't be surprised if Bangla beats Pakistan in this WC, and Bangladesh starts overtaking Pakistan in cricketing ability in all formats.

Pak performs badly due to non cricketing reasons .... if not for this, Pak would have done splendidly  ....  it has some of the most talented players

<what padosis want to hear>

exactly, it's like a broken tape recorder blah blah

neither fans, players or officials want to admit they haven't got good enough players to compete with the top 4 teams.

dozen other valid criticisms of Sarfraz, who's a liability as a player, but this one is his worst quality.

This mentality is straight from street cricket where we yell at players after each ball. He should understand these guys are picked to represent the national team and give them a bit of breathing space.

anyways,  I don't buy Pak players were at Seesha place on Saturday until 2am, that's nonsense, no sane professional player would be out that late on eve of a such massive match

media and officials deflecting attention on the real (bitter) reasons

Real reason is they are crap lol They came in to the world cup with 11 losses in a row. Lost to Afghanistan in the warm up. Fluked a win against England after proper thrashing against WI.

counterproductive.  Its his coping mechanism because he can't handle the stress and the job of leading the team.  Its what happens when someone unqualified is 'kicked upstairs'.  CT fluke cursed greenbros and saddled them with this sub-par wicket-keeper, who is a sub-sub-par batsman, and made him undroppable.  Pak board looked at "Inddiya" and said, they have a Dhoni, why can't we have a Sarfraz.  Didn't work.

Problem for them now is that thorough housecleaning is unavoidable.  Sarfraz gotta go - Hafeez should go, but probably doesn't want to.  Malik is hardworking but way past his sellby date.  They better not make poor Babar the captain, as it is, he's barely a decent batsman, making him captain will doom him.  Can't make a former fixer captain in Amir.  Hassan is turning out to be a one year wonder.  Wahab is running on his last fumes.  Shadab is too young and threatening to turn into a greenbro imitation piyush chawla.  Imam has the nepotism monkey on his back, and too new.  Haris Sohail is a decent bat, but has no heart, and is prone to believing in jadoo-tona and shys away from a tough game.  Imad Wasim?  ODI Captain?  Maybe the only option, but that guy is another liability in waiting.  ODI cricket is not kind to finger spinners, and it would be basically replacing a liability captain with another one.

Maybe a temporary captain in Malik or Hafeez for a few months, schedule a few series with Ireland, Zimbabwe, Papua New Guinea, and then ease in a new captain into the role for 2023.

What will happen to the coach and Selector Aloo though?

Well apparently PCB will be searching for a replacement coach & selector post WC. Another ‘rebuilding’ phase.
