.what is the guarantee that Kohli is not favoring his friends who don't deserve too? Do you know that's not happening for sure?

My this post is nothing related to Kumble and Kohli spat, but let me add this about Yuvraj

Yuvi's selection has been around since Dhoni was the captain and before Dhoni gave up the captaincy to Kohli.  He was about to be part of T20 world cup too last year before Kohli got the captaincy, so he was already on selectors selection list the moment he was to comeback from injury.

So to blame Kohli every time for picking his friends is just as bad as as someone else blaming another player or coach.

Well even Bhajji was picked in WT20 but Dhoni never played him. Yuvi batting at No.4 with Dhoni at 5 makes our tail start at 4 and getting so many opportunities is what makes us question Kohli but agreed it is a little harsh at this point to blame him a 100% for it

I highly doubt Kumble will say much on this.  He's too classy to spill details to the media.

I thought the same. But on further consideration, and re-reading that note he issued to the media, he pretty much zeroed in on Kohli as the root cause.  That note of his was unusual in that he actually identified an individual- I sense and believe that he crossed a line there.  In short he was spilling details.

Lets for a moment ignore the player-agent nexus and go into some of the details emerging on the Kohli-Kumble fight.. Isnt it a coach's job to  reflect on things which went wrong on the field and get the players to not repeat them again? Isnt preparation / off-field planning part of his routine?  If he forced the players to mend their ways or work on their deficiencies, or enforced guidelines on selection, it was for the betterment of Indian cricket.  If this did not sit well with "the clique". then it doesnt matter even if one is a super-coach, he is gone

Informed insiders have talked, through the course of the tournament just ended, of a series of differences between coach and team. They tell of the star spinner who opted to sit out the IPL, not because his injury was debilitating or his recovery slow, but because he was doing an Achilles and sulking in his tent because he believed his franchise hadnÂ’t given him his due. They talk of the coach questioning how a player, who for whatever reason had abstained from limited-overs cricket for the better part of five months, could walk back into a pivotal position in a crucial tournament.

They tell of captain and coach disagreeing about whether various legends with storied pasts were batting at positions a bit too high for their current form, leaving the middle order enfeebled. They talk of the coach’s insistence on discipline – on turning up at the right time in the right gear for practice, for team meetings, and contributing in full measure to both.

And they talk of an incident from the warm-up phase of the tournament. Kumble, insiders say, had made meticulous notes while the team was in the middle, then spent time with the video analyst to pull up relevant clips relating to how individual batsmen and bowlers had performed and what, in his opinion, could be done to improve. He collated these clips, created extensive notes for each player, and slipped the notes and videos under their doors late that night. A couple of days later, he discovered that the notes had remained unread, the videos unwatched. And that triggered a dust-up – shortly after which word first began to spread about unrest in the dressing room.

If true, shows how important and valuable kumble was. The spinner appears to be Ashwin and despite having a phenomenal test season the coach questioned his CT selection. Shows he was aware of need of LOI specialists and trying new bowlers like Kuldeep yadav. Kohli's arrogance has cost india if true.

As it turns out, Ashwin was our most useless player from CT.

Its really not that hard to guess who were all against Kumble. He must've wanted to break the shackles of these non-performers who were only there in the name of experience.

Selectors should have done that to begin with. Every Tom, Dick Harry knows deep inside Uv, Dhoni, Jadeja and Ashwin are as good as dusted in ODI cricket.

One of the news report posted here says that the differences are not cricket-related. I believe Kohli developed some personal issues with Kumble. I dont believe players are against Kumble just because he was a hardtask master. Kohli is one of the hardest working cricketer in India.

BCCI leaking a lot of information through "unnamed sources" to do damage control. Kumble giving a dressing down to Ashwin was his last straw. What is with these sissies who can't take a criticism when they lost. It has to be at the moment so they can get out of the rut. Otherwise, we will be another SA with choker tag, this loss is on India, rather than Pak win. They lost it in the first 10 overs after the noball wkt. Dont blame Kohli for toss decision. e
