In future he can allow us to take extra, batsman , seamer, spinner, all rounder who ever u want Dhawan has failed in test cricketMukund looked ordinary. Yet we keep going back to dhawan n rohitIyer is one of the best players of spin bowling who doesnt get selected. We'll need to pick another player to be our long term opener soon enough, if our first choice openers continue to get injured. Dhawan is not a bad choice in subcontinental conditions. Even in our last tour of Lanka he did well when he played. 1 match 2 innings, an average of over 80 and 1 ton scored.
