Latest farce from BCCI, reduces ODIs from 2019-23 cycle, increases T20 games

There are only 8-9 teams and you can strike off Pakistan from the list. You want us to play only 4-5 other teams day in and day out?

I don’t care personally as a viewer for the Wi and Srilanka series or even tests against Bangladesh.

 

5-6 years back I would have said no LOIs against Bangla either but I am ok with it now as they are a competitive odi side on the subcontinent.

 

So yeah 4-5 good teams and good competitive cricket is what I need as a viewer.

 

This even distribution,revenue,member votes etc etc I think as fans we get too caught up in these things...I just want to watch good cricket.

 

Now coming to Pakistan,I don’t wont BCCI to play them as a matter of principle,in fact I want this to be applied across all sports and cultural exchange...but if BCCI has no problem

with it and the GOi gives noc then I will lap that up too as a fan.

Its not easy to find out that this guy get time to date a Bollywood Superstar who too has busy schedule.

He has all the time in world to make all them video adverts and photo shoots for various corporates and meets

When it comes to cricket he says, I am not a Robot in the same sentence you can see he has all time in world to briefed and debriefed by his PR machinery.

If we play only 4-5 teams I will personally find it very boring. Lanka will improve, so no reason why we can't have good Indo-Lanka matches 2 years from now. Similarly I rate the new WI  team, they are not a top team but can deliver surprises to the very best on their day and play an exciting brand of cricket. Cricket will be poorer without these 2 teams. And we must remember when we were weak in the olden days, better teams didn't just stop touring/inviting us, there is no scope for such a move in a sport played by so few countries.

Virat kohli is the sole player who plays both the formats... otherwise we have two different teams for ODI and tests since this home season.

2 is his crown achievement but 5 is pretty good too. 1 was back stabbing by him and 4 is his shortcoming.

I applaud him for 3 but for different reasons.

would have been perfect...thats just 360 days of cricket saving 30 days from earlier ftp.

It's because the broadcaster demanded it .Nothing to do with Kohli.

 

BCCI is phasing out test cricket slowly because there isn't much interest and hence broadcasters don't want it.And they are not the only board doing it either.

Kohli loves test cricket. Cant blame Kohli here. The players wanted lesser playing days and better workload management, so the board went after the least profitable form of cricket.

 

This is what Kohli said recently "“My favourite obviously is Test cricket, we are making sure from every angle that this should be the most important format because as batsman or as bowlers also we know how pleasing it is to score in Test matches, especially when conditions are tough,” Kohli said."

but test matches have not been reduced? ODIs did.

Test Cricket is on its last legs anyways. It will be only good till we have few good test players left. Nowdays, focus is just on T20 that no one wants to learn how to leave the ball. If you aren't flashy, you are not allowed to hang around the team. 10 foot pole is used to keep you away. Result of that is: Project Yuvraj, Project Raina, Project Dhawan, Project Rohit.

how he back-stabbed Kumble? they were never in good terms, so, it is not back stabbing. back-stabbing is when you pretend to be friend and then betray. if he removes Shashtri then that will be back-stabbing.

Hate to get lynched here by the test lovers but i think india does play to way many tests. They should play no more than 3 test match series against aistralia, englad, and SA, and no more than 2 against every one else. 4 match series is over kill. And playing 6 test matches in such a short span of time against Lanka is just pathetic.

3 tests are fine, but the worst is when they have like 7 Odis! Makes me want to pull my hair out.

I also don’t see why we shouldn’t play 3 tests against NZ. NZ at home are the team to beat and matches can get very competitive.

Even if you dont get along with someone you can still act like professionals. Kumble was blind sided. As a minimum Kohli could have come out and said following things are being done incorrectly by Kumble and those need to be fixed. What happened behind the scenes was back stabbing.
