Excellent captain.  Proivdes drive, purpose and energy.  Exact skipper notorious lethragic indian players need.

Dont agree 100 per cent with all picks and tactics.  But by and large does great job.  Not by luck our pace bolwinmg best its ever been, he picks pace, promotes aaggression and positive energy in field to back them.

Well done VK.

I watched this clip recently of Steve Waugh talking about Indias 1999 tour of Aus, must have been the first test and Aus were struggling at  not much on the board for 4 at lunch, Waugh was new to the crease and Sachin got on Gangulys part time medium pace for a few overs. Waugh settled in, and went on to score a ton.

No, Virat is not that bad a captain.

We might berate him as much as we want and rightly so but on field he does make things happen with his intensity ,hardly you'll see us lose the grip over the opposition team on field and lose the plot like it used to be under msd.

Now teams struggle to reach even 350 against us

Yup dhoni used to concede defeat very early and then used to bowl part timers like Raina so the opposition gets easy runs and declare earlier. He started off as a very innovative captain, but he was crap overseas because he never understood fast bowling.

This test is a case study on why Kohli is such a crap captain when fielding. The Aussies would've been bundled out for 250 max, if the moron knew how to set fields. 100 ahead, 3 wickets left and he has no 2nd slip,no gully. Darpook and buzhdil captain.

India had about 5 catches today gone begging because Kohli is more interested in having a third man than attacking the tail with runs in hand.

What would be reaction if pitch cracks and Lyon starts turning the ball?

Murali Vijay can exploit it with his off breaks.

How come he makes selection blunders during crucial times & gets away with it? There has to be a limit of the idiocy.
A spinner will definitely play a role as the match progresses. We need to score big when our batting arrives because we'd be facing Lyon in 4th innings :fear1:

You guys should be ashamed of youselves.  We fighting hard, doing well.  Its like dont get 80 all out skipper idiot

End of day most of you guys 5ft 2, side parting mummie boys, glasses and accountants/IT geeks.  Fav sport chess or cross words

Kohli brings something you malnoursiuhed dwarfs wont get.  Fight, aggression, desire, drive and never say die attitude, You guys more focused on chess moves like geeks should be.  We constantly fighting and challenging oppo.  Like today in days gone by this would have slipped away and body language of players become submissive and give up to let oppo put on 600 declared.  Here Kohli keeps on cracking the whip, the boys play with intent and desire which instilled over years as Kohli as skipper ad we come back in to it

Worst thread ever this with geeks who get scared looking at their own reflection all becoming heroes here.  Pathetic wrist slittig

I am okay with the team. Thinking that Indian spinners what Lyon would do then we are fooling ourselves.  Our spinners are not like Lyon. THey don't rip and expect lot of bounce of the deck. On the same Adelaide oval where Lyon made top Indian batsmen scratching around against him, Ashwin had a hard time getting a tailender out. Besides one of our seamer has an iffy fitness who could break down anytime. It was down to Umesh and Bhuvi. Bhuvi would be more useful in SA/English condition. In Australia his bowling would have been very harmless. He would have conceded less runs. His batting might be handy. Those are the two advantages. Yes in hindsight it looks a better move. But i say there is nothing much to choose between them as bowlers. India needs to find alternatives. Preferably a left arm quicker. Loading the side with 5 right arm seamers mean teams will eventually get used to it.
