Jharkhand is the cleanest state in India followed by Maharashtra and Chattisgarh, according to the report, which was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Indore on Saturday. Among the cities, Indore is the cleanest -- second year in a row -- followed by Bhopal and Chandigarh.

Interesting. Even though MP has the most "clean" places in top 30.

This is purely on the door of the WB government (obviously), but I remember there were statistics last year regarding Swachh Bharat where it showed some states weren't even spending the central funds allocated to them, Nitish Kumar's Bihar government and Akilesh Yadav's UP government were among those who weren't spending the funds. I guess Mamata was leading the pack also there.

Socialism, Secularism & un-hygienic environment go hand in hand... when you are on an “intellectual” high, hygiene etc takes back seat...

Kuch bhi! Scandinavia must be the dirtiest region on earth on account of socialism & secularism

But how can overpopulation be an excuse when we are responsible for that too? Before dreaming about anything, first step is to be clean and green, and work towards having a manageable population

Housing a few million Bangladeshis too has this effect, they are even worse than us in the hygiene department. Check out Dhaka in all its glory on Bakrid day.
