Anyway I hope you are proven right as his career progesses but I see no hope. Relax. it is a super patta. See how Rohit and even Pandya smoked their bowlers. Chahar is not a trundler atleast in T20s. He worked hard and upped his pace from 120s and now bowled few in 140s. Edited July 8, 2018 by Cricket_Fan UrmiSinhaRay 1
G_B_ Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 not too bad not too good thats my assessment of him UrmiSinhaRay 1

WeStMiDz Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Has a nice action, gets it through at good pace and can make the ball talk when conditions suit. Plenty to work with and personally would have him in the test squad if there's room. UrmiSinhaRay 1

Global.Baba Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Heard Chahar is a big hitter down the order. If he can show some spark with the bat then he is not the worst bowler to have played for us. even though looks mediocre,at this point he is better than the likes of Siraj,Unadkut,Tjakur etc. UrmiSinhaRay 1

express bowling Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Chahar has one of the best outswingers in India now. Not just the degree of swing but the line of the deliveries too. If the conditions aid conventional swing, he can be very potent. He has a decent inswinger too. Problem is ... conventional swing is not available more often than not. Does he have any other tool if the ball is not swinging ? I have not seen it yet. He does not have a high arm action and does not get bounce with any consistency. Not seen much seam movement either. Pace is medium-fast with occasional fast-medium spells. Dhoni did not use him in the death overs at all for CSK. That may mean that his end-overs skills are not yet developed. It would be nice if he works on adding skills for non-swinging conditions. Sgattick10, UrmiSinhaRay and coffee_rules 2 1
Pollack Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 (edited) One dimensional medium fast. You'll find plenty of them like him in India. Managed to jump ahead of other bowlers in wait list because of dhoni bhaiyya.Adds nothing to the ODI or t20 team. Maybe if he can bat quite good then can be considered as Pandya's backup. No. He is here because he did well with India A http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=12395;type=tournament UrmiSinhaRay 1
vvvslaxman Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Very harsh to judge him on a road with short boundaries. Ankit_sharma03 and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1

He was bowling to Jason Roy, Hales, Bairstow, Stokes, Morgan, Butler not some club level cricketers. That is as destructive batting as you get. On a patta with small boundaries going for 40 is a norm when you open with new ball. UrmiSinhaRay 1
coffee_rules Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 obviously, better than Thakur. Need to keep him on the bench for t20s at least. UrmiSinhaRay and saik 1 1
