Dhoni has 8 50s in England. Now we are struggling to find even 1 top order batsman to score a 50. How we have fallen

Once upon a time Dhoni was a really talented player TBF.
I think down the line he lost the motivation to do well and now age has catched up with Him.

He was the best batsman in 2014 tour as well. Batsman Dhoni never had any problem and likes of Saha/Karthik have to take 10 lives to match that. But his captaincy in tests was an issue.

Yeah I remember Lol.
Rahane and Bhuvi also did well I think.
To be frank, Dhoni felt probs lethargic after the Old players left who were more acquainted with the test format and he had to build a team from scratch which he wasn't able to do.
He definitely had the ability to be a great Test captain as well - he probably didn't see much commercial incentive in Test Cricket.
Still I Think he backed the likes of Rahane and Pujara more than Kohli could ever do.
Kohli is certainly more home at longer formats TBH because he is not quick on his feet
And honestly, Jadeja became a good Test Bowler despite being pretty much untalented and useless.
If Hardik can become half of what Jadeja achieved, I will give a standing ovation to Kohli.
Dhoni Was a very good wk-bat at his peak.
I know age has slowed him Down but he has actually improved his keeping TBH.
Kartik is a good pure bat while Saha is more of a pure keeper.
Kartik can be good under proper coaching and Captaincy but I agree, replacing Dhoni is tough.
Both in abilities and brand values.

English bowling attack is miles better than it has ever been. Jimmy, Barbie,Woakes,Curran,Stokes. That's quite a relentless attack. No easy bowler to target. They are all accurate and extremely effective in the right conditions. Also the Duke ball does more than it used to then.
