Will the tail once again torment India ?

We have seen it all before especially in foreign conditions. Indian bowlers manage to get into good positions and then allow the tail to wag and lose the advantage.

 

I believe if India get a lead of 75 runs, India will be in a great position in this test. But Starc, Cummins and the rest can make a huge difference with the bat.

Starc and Cummins are good batsmen and cant be termed as tail.

 

They both have good defensive technique and have good attacking shots too.

 

So, we need to curb our expectations.

 

The situation we were in yesterday and where we are now. A close 1st inngs is good expectation to have.

Its part of the game. Can’t expect to roll them over so fast with players like Cummins and Starc in there. 

 

Lower Batting in genral has improved vastly and tail is generally suppose to give hard time now.

 

Hopefully we will get them with some lead.

SA, Eng and Aus tailenders are decent batsmen and expecting them to fold cheaply in 5 overs like our tail is foolish.

Our bowlers and captain start trying everything to get them done in 20 minutes.

They have to do the same thing which they do to get the top order out. Keep bowling right lines and be patient. 

Can ask Bumrah to use his yorkers more often against tailenders.

We should be worried about what our openers can do. Our bowlers have done a decent job till now. The batsmen need to show some spine for once.

this is age old problem with us , coaches cnt do much

need that venom in bowling to clean up tail overseas....only bumrah looks like doing so

Our tail  at home has done much more than this. Ashwin,Jadeja & Bhuvi ,Pandya has done very well in general too. So tail is not the problem.Can always expect tail  to put some runs these days in general. We need to sort out other aspects,especially batting.

Simple. Usually, just bowl tight line and length to tailenders and make them play a false shot by frustrating them.works 9 out of 10 times . This is what Starc and other good bowlers to the tail do, full straight and fast. Indian bowlers usually get carried away and try too much stuff to the tail.

cummins will usually be targeting tailenders head at the other end though

Ashwin has to pick up  Head or Starc. India played with only three bowlers yesterday.Shami has been useless.You need pace bowler who can rattle tailenders with pace or a leg spinner.We never had those thats why tail always wags against us.
