We should start developing alternatives, he isn't getting younger. A fantastic bowler still, but he is breaking down far too regulalrly during critical series.

And Ash has been unfit for 2 big series now and still with the team.

 

Bhuvi is probably not fully fit for test matches but still with the squad.

 

Shaw's replacement was brought in late as well.

I guess fitness will always be an issue for tall spinners. L Sivaramakrishna was another example.

IMO they will play Kuldeep and this is to try to fool the aussies,no way they will play a player who is unfit.

Playing with just 2 pacers is very risky in Australia, if Kuldeep replaces a fast bowler.  Should not be done.

 

Ashwin,  if fit, could have come in place of Rohit if pitch looks spin-friendly.  Kuldeep does not have the batting ability to do so.

I agree. If Kuldeep plays, I suspect they will somehow shoehorn Pandya in as well (not that I am advocating for this policy) to get a 3+2 combo. I believe that Vihari should be capable of playing the 2nd spinner role adequately

But who is going to replace the unavailable Rohit  ?      Is he going to be an upgrade over Pandya realistically  ?

 

Rahul is totally out of form.  Vijay is done.  There is no material difference Parthiv and Pandya as batsmen.
