Agree, I was just thinking the same that this match will be hyped in the whole cricketing world, but Kusal Perera's innings has already been sort of forgotten. Cricket's actual centre might have shifted to Indian subcontinent, but mentally the game remains Anglo-centric

How many people attended that game. Noise level. How may runs and balls Perera partner faced .  What was his overall contribution percentage wise. What was name of trophy? Its like Kohli hundred in odis vs someones in crunch ICC game

Are you serious? Just cause Ashes has history and no SL test series has that same pedigree, that Lankan win means less? SL had won just 1 match in SA EVER till then. Imagine the demons in their head about facing quick, short bowling on fast bouncy tracks like Durban. 5 down with ~ 200 to get, with a much weaker lower order and tail than England had in this match, facing a 5 man attack of Steyn, Rabada, Philander, Olivier, Maharaj...yeah, I do rate Kusal Perera's innings higher, not taking anything away from Stokes - he's a champion all right!

India should have won the first test, England didnt bowl that special to defend 190. Kohli threw it away to a nothing ball really ,pandya looked good with him in that pship and should have coasted us home .

Not in that test ,the slips dropped the tail ender ,also captain sahab got yadav late ,he was the perfect foil for Curran's wkt

Credit to Stokes and England.   However, Stokes was OUT (Plumb Lbw) off Lyon in the last over.  Not given.    Plus Lyon also missed a very easy run out chance little earlier.      Reminds me of the Luck england had in the WC Final.

When I first saw it live, I thought it was sliding down leg.  Genuinely! When it came up on DRS it was plumb!

Of course, umpires have been making mistakes like this for over a hundred years, it's just now we have the tech to prove it. Dickie would not be a legend if he were under the same scrutiny that's for sure.  And that is why reviews should only be used for howlers, as soon as a team has used their's up, they go back to relying on imperfect umpires.  England were lucky, but Australia are at fault for wasting that review on Leach, they knew from that moment onward that there was a possibility the umpire could get a decision wrong and there would be no way to correct it.

That being said, Tim Paine is a true gentleman, didn't whinge about the decision one bit.
