That prohibition is for agricultural land.

Anyone can buy residential property or property for setting up factories etc.

Yes, Kashmir is/was their property. The difference between them and rest of India is, India never shared power with various local rulers and Zamidars. In Kashmir, article 370 allowed them to retain power and hence Peasant ruler relationship continued and they( rulers and peasants) still think Kashmir is the poperty of Abdullahs

Public reject those views but Political Position on Kashmir is not a compelling view that matter to public. Its bitter truth. They are fed by logic and arguements of others because they themselves are not capable enough to think the implications of risk of not taking a stand.
