Would India have Won test series in Australia had smith n warner played ??

I think so No- Warner is no smith, kohli, williamson but m pretty sure on those wkts he wud have played 1-2 good innings at worst , Smith on his one ground we can very well imagine. Smith was also a good n their main captain which wud have made the diff ....we all saw in IPL when captaincy was taken away from rahane n given to smith they started doing far better . I really doubt we wud have won had these 2 played

Smith has scored alots of runs against India & Eng but we had bumrah this time. Would have been good contest but even if bumrah would have had edge over smith in whole series i think smith & warner would have atleast managed to win one match for aus. Who knows could have been series draw but i doubt we would have won it if both of them were playing.

India had Bumrah. His unorthodox action, pace from relative short run ups, ability to bowl yorkers at will, ability to  late adjust  as per the moments of batsman at the crease combined with more bouncier  AUS wkts & unpredictability  of Kuldeep, left arm spin of Jadeja....... it can't be guaranteed that AUS would surely have won with these 2 players in the team.Keep in mind Smith was reduced to a no body in that SAF series led by Maharaj & Morkel.

Not even a question, they almost defeated us in third test ,thanks to a stubborn "never say die "attitude of Aussies and that too without their two best batters

Smith , Warner would have made sure India leave Aussie shores without a win

Touring teams mostly win at the den of the opposition when they are not their best, players are injured or in retirement phase.  No team can beat a strong Aus at home.  Same is the case for England.  England wasnt the strongest in this game as they had to play with 10 men.  dont jump the gun.  Anderson's injury proved costly for England.  Would Aus have won this test if Anderson was fit the whole match.  You are talking about Smith and Warner not playing against India but forgetting about Anderson not playing this game.  He alone could have changed the game for England.

Anderson on this pitch wouldn't have been effective at all. If anything his ball would have hardly reached wicket keeper imo.

India won the first test by 31 runs. All else being equal, do you think Smith/Warner would have averaged 8 runs more per inning each than the worst 2 specialist batsmen in the Aussie team? I’d put money on yes.

I suspect India would have at the very least lost the test series 2-1 instead of winning 2-1 with Smith/Warner.

But the direct impact was less in the number of runs and more that Australia lost their entire leadership in all forms of the game in 1 shot. Even the 1 Test India did win may have gone the other way with Smith/Warner.

Plots harder to say if ODIs would have been any different because ODIs are more fickle, and it’s quite possible that Smith/Warner would have not performed and India would have been able to get them out, or the Indian batting/bowling would have been able to win despite the additional runs Australia would have put up. OTOH the tactics that come with experienced leadership would have been even more important here.

Yes, Australia would have won if Anderson would have played the whole match. There isn’t even a question about it. Anderson wasn’t going to be the difference maker on this pitch.

Englands problem was their inability to play spin, and that they lacked anyone who could exploit a wicket that had quite a bit for the spinners. That’s why they lost.

Oh and because they have absolutely no clue no clue what to do with Steve Smith.

Would Aus have won 2004 series had we not prepared green top in Nagpur or had Tendulkar been fit?

yes they still wud have won

they won 1st test in banglore which wasnt a green top........

tendulkar still played 2 test out of 4..........tendulkar nyways wasnt in outstanding form in those years like smith have been . In 2003 he avg 17......

Ur talking about one batsman who was struggling with injuries in those phase.....here its 2 batsman among which one who has been at top of his game with no injury n form issue .

Talking about ifs n buts in that series .....we wont have even won 1 test in that series had we batted in 4th innings of mumbai test. Pitches, toss, injuries keep happening. This was ban which duration was long n unfair. Neways that aussie team won every where.......here shastri n kohli tout that victory as if we have soughted all our overseas issue.....where as reality was Eng n SA tour
