Shastri - Iyer will stay at no. 4

When asked about no ICC 50-over tournament until 2023, Shastri told Times of India, "That's true but at the same time we have a good One-day setup that will continue. One of the areas we concentrated on over the last two years was to blood as many youngsters as possible. Shreyas Iyer, for instance, he is going to stay at No. 4. There are more youngsters who will get a look-in. There's an awesome amount of talent coming through the ranks."

How can Iyer stay at No.4 when he was batting at No.5. ?

you are expecting too much of bewda. his idea of counting is: 1,2, er..., 4, ...6,... 7...10... the only thing he can count accurately is how many bottles he wants to order and consume.

Or maybe Bewda thinks that Pant's name is Iyer.      :phehe:

Like Rayudu, Kedhar Jadhav, Dhoni etc ? What is this guy smoking? Why were Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer, Pant not given chances before WC so they could have settled in the side ?

I dont really rate Iyer but atleast he can play spin and doesnt get bogged down, tiny victories i guess.

Same here neither do i rate him but always knew about his ability to hit spinners out of the park

Bewda follows the rightt counting system. As a well grounded man, he follows the Indian counting system used for buildings - Ground, 1st, 2nd, etc. So he counts batting order as 0,1,2,3,4.
