Abrasive pitch, not much swing, seam and bounce but looks okay for quality spinners and pacers who can get reverse swing. Bengal found wanting so far, mainly due to lack of pace.

Pujara and Saha - the two India internationals in the Ranji finals are striking at 27.85 and 22.95 respectively. Granted that the pitch is sluggish and first innings lead is vital, but how come these two are the slowest? Tells us something about the collective confidence of India bats at the moment.

It's all about pitch and conditions. Most bowlers will struggle on such a pitch.

what a pitch they have prepared for the final..  Saurashtra is using their clout in BCCI and probably playing on such fraud pitches for many years I guess..

It's not a totally flat Rajkot pitch. Difficult to score runs here. Not good for traditional seamers who have picked bucketloads of wickets in helpful conditions. Has started to keep low and take sharp turn gradually towards the end of Day 3

Unadkat can’t possibly be worse than bhuvi who has lost his mojo. I would bring unadkat back into the national side, will bring much needed variety to the attack.

 

Even if we look at unadkat’s international stats they’re not too shabby, not sure why he was dropped in the first place

If 5 days are not enough to complete first innings and moreover if none of the teams can score even 450 then that groundsman deserves to be penalized. It is as bad as a pitch which turns square from ball 1

Yeah, this final is a sham! Pathetic lifeless pitch made to take the sting out of Bengal bowlers. If there's no result, make both teams the joint winner.
