New Zealand were the morale winners with Kane Williamson compiling one of T-20 International crickets classics exhibiting supreme artistry or craftsmanship. With 2 to win of 4 balls after Taylor dispatched the 1st ball for 6 it was game, set and match for the Kiwis before Williamson was dismissed. There could never be a better illustration of how a game is never over till the final icing on the cake is placed. It proved that even after it is just a stroke away from the equivalent of a game, set and match in test cricket the fall of a crucial wicket can turn the course of game 360 degrees like the complete reversal in the plot of a movie.

India escaped with a virtual Houdini act in the last 4 deliveries but one must give credit to the great mental resilience of Mohammad Shami with his mastery of the short rising ball. The game also proved how much cricket is in the mind with the dismissal of Williamson. After executing some of the most dazzling boundaries of a great bowler like Bhumra he just failed to bang the final nail in the coffin or give it the finishing touch.

For the majority of the chase New Zealot seemed on course. Sad that after doing everything perfectly the Kiwis just buckled at the winning post ,as though they were destined to lose.

Have you seen any t20 match ever before....dint you see wc match against bd....have you seen Kohli numerous innings in t20 wc qf and sf or not?

Dhoni's biggest service to Indian cricket could be infecting the minds of batsmen the world over with the take it to the end strategy.

Not the method because most teams want to finish the chase with a couple of overs to spare  but definetely the excuse of taking the game deep in a failed chase is a leaf out of Dhoni’s playbook

Nothing wrong in Dhoni's strategy, you cannot win the match sitting in the dressing room, you always have to give yourself a chance in the end. When he was young he could pull it off as he had ability to clear boundaries. As he got older he should have become more proactive but he became worse.

That works only if you are batting with the tail or something. In a chase you always have to target to finish it atleast a couple of overs before and then if things go south, adapt not the other way round.

Dhoni mostly batted with tail in those chases where he dragged them to last over.Dhoni lost lot of t20s using that approach but to me Dhoni was never a T20 player.

I like Kohli using Bumrah for super over.He is your best bowler and you back him to deliver everytime even on his offday. You win or lose with your best players either with bat or ball.

In Baseball terms you want your closer to close the match even after he blows few saves.

its because bumrah in his bad day is still good. And others in indian lineup with **** their pants in super over anyway.
