Thala Academy of Tuk Tuk - Slow innings that costed their Teams a victory this IPL

Thank you bro. This thread will last beyond time as it has immense potential. Fun fact most of the entries are Indian batsmen who have realized that IPL dhuttu is more (Unlike playing for Ranji & India) and are doing this to consolidate their places in the 11.

Look at the amount of double entrees in that list. KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Shiikhar dhawan :wall:. What are these franchisees coaches and management doing?.

Pandey's knock yesterday was the reason for SRH loss. If Williamson had faced atleast 10 more deliveries SRH would have eked out a win.

It would have Gill in last KXIP vs KKR match, but KLR out-tuktuked him and lost match to punjab

True...Gill should accelerate after facing 20 balls at least. A 50 ball innings at a run-a-ball is not acceptable at this level. An extra 15-20 runs would have kept the total out of Punjab's reach.

Manish Pandey!! doesnt get enough deliveries at times or he often fails when he gets time.

In T20s, He is probably the biggest fraud out there. Jadeja can at least bowl.

Getting rid of captaincy might bring back KLR to his best.

Bit harsh on Jaddu... He tries to make shots... I’ve not seen him defending much...

Better question is do you judge on intent or on outcome?

Jaddu tries but doesn't connect. Or maybe connects 1 in 5. Which is not very different from the other tuktuk drivers; Dhoni and Jadhav in terms out outcome.

Perception also plays an important part in cricket... Jaddu hitting occasional boundaries and then breaking into a “talwarbaazi” helps him to show the Intent. Kedar couldn’t do that. He only relied upon his Dhoni family’s grocery shopping job.

The core skill could be bowling or fielding. For example Ashwin is a good bowler but the same cannot be said about his fielding. However as long as he shows intent to field, he should be ok.

One thing to consider too (while I did appreciate the humour in the OP) is the nature of the pitches.  This past week, the ball seemed to be sticking a bit in most of the matches - guys who rely on timing rather than power seemed to have a harder time carting the ball over the fence.  No statistical basis, just an observation for discussion.

Good point.  While we are dissing KLR, let us also take a moment to appreciate his team-mate, Ozzie hot star Glenn "the great" Maxwell's intent, his passion, his hellbent desire  ... to return to the dugout at the earliest possible moment.

People are discussing those who have played considerable number of balls to impact the outcome of a game - Good examples of  impact players in K11 are Agarwal and Pooran
