Is it just me or is Babar Azam a bit of a choker?

Seen him play only a few times.

 

But every time he takes Pakistan to the edge before he fails and Pak lose. Todays 3rd Odi loss to Zimbabwe the same issue.

More than choking, he showed lack of self belief by not coming to bat in the super over after just scoring a century. Sending out a debutant to do the high pressure job is very harsh

Not sure on 4th gear but he would have definitely won it in his home ground when 37 needed on 30 balls with 4wkts remainingagainst ATG zim bowling who are playing international cricket after 2 years I suppose.

It's not 250 rather 237....https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/8039/scorecard/1144515/new-zealand-vs-pakistan-33rd-match-icc-cricket-world-cup-2019 . Pak has only won 2 matches o er 250 scores that too against zim and wi/sl i supoose In last 5 years. Even in that wc match Harris was the agressor.

His idol is AB de Villiers I think.

Not really a choker but he plays for a a below average Test and LOI side.

 

Good reality check for Pak fans especially Imran Khan, who used to keep praising Inzi for his so called match winning ability (when it really was due to a great team, especially the bowlers with bottle caps)

Only knock that I really rate was vs NZ in WC.  Pitch was not easy & he won them the game.  He also needs support from other batters to win them the games. 

In T20 he is useless more or less.  In Tests he is class.  Kohli still has not got a ton in Gabba but Babar has.

Tbf, he did. 

 

He averaged 67 while Kohli 55. 

 

Got a quality hundred against New Zealand under high pressure, 90 odd against Ban and a whole lot of 60s and 70s. Only game he failed was against Windies where poyzz imploded. 

 

Ofcourse, it was tough for Kohli to get big scores coming in regularly at 130/1 and he was more than happy to play second fiddle to Rohit at the other end.
