He is roughly 60% as good as he was in Australia last time. A good performance in second warm up will give him the nod but if both fails with bat, I expect Saha to start at Adelaide on 17 December. Even Rahul has an outside chance to play as a specialist keeper. His keeping was better than Pant in the IPl who was giving easy byes. He is keeping in ODIs too. Pant's fitness is leading to his downfall. Saha although has more chance to play in D/N game. Laaloo 1
Sean Bradley Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Good to see Hahane playing the captain's knock, hoping that the responsibility of leadership makes him the player that we all wished he would become. raki05 and nevada 2
Stan AF Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Oh beautiful. Both shaw and Gill duck huh. Sooperappu
Lone Wolf Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Rahane at least won the toss. I think we have a better chance with him being the captain in last 3 tests. Lolli would lose toss 4 in 4 such a panauti he is. nevada, Stan AF, Adamant and 2 others 3 2
SK_IH Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Shaw is lining up these ducks too often Jimmy Cliff 1

I think Pant is overrated in this forum. He does not have the game awareness to sustain his batting long enough in test cricket. His two hundreds also came in dead rubber on a really flat wicket. New Zealand series was more of a reality check when he got out like three times in one inning for like what? 8 runs? His best bet to score runs is still Australia but not sure if he has worked enough on his fitness till now. Lone Wolf 1

What curent form? He had some really good measured ipl innings, never threw his wicket away, never looked really in trouble. He formed some great match winning partnerships and also kept well Why do some of you guys lie so blatantly when everyone saw him bat in IPL? He deserves a proper run for India even if he scores 3-4 such ducks. Shaw's problem is his fitness. The day he sorts it, he will be a great international batsman Does not look like Opening is the slot for Gill in tests. He should start in MO to start with . raki05 1

He averaged 31 at a very poor S/R of 113. Don't be a Pant fangirl and defend him for such poor performance. Looks like you are still living in 2018.

You were talking about playing responsible innigs which he did. Many times. He came when his team was in trouble and formed great partnerships without throwing his wicket away . Which is what we need in tests. You are the one who spoke about match awareness. Not strike rate. 30 is a great average for t20 for the position he comes in. Why are you worried about strike rates in tests? Which is it then? Strike rate or match awareness? Because he showed great match awareness and was asked to tone down A fan girl is a million times better than a toxic fan who attacks a 22 year old and makes up lies Edited December 6, 2020 by New guy

Said it even before these 2 laid ducks. I don't trust the kids yet. Shaw is a complete lottery, Gill is promising but young and raw.

Aus wickets are on the flatter side, and even the pink ball tests have long periods where the ball doesn't do that much.

vishalvirsingh Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 watching umesh yadav bat...i get a question in my mind. are the coaches coaching him to Bat? I doubt. he is just slogging when it is not required.
Forward Defence Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Good century for Rahane. Also happy to see Kuldeep showing some resilience with the bat. Lower order runs make a lot of difference these days Mosher 1
