Funny banter. 9 days time till SCG test, coach should assign Pant homework to counter-sledge next time.

I don’t think his English is that good to counter a native English speaker. However, its pretty evident that his laughter and chat in Hindi was irritating Wade. He should continue doing that. May be say some jokes in Hindi and throw the name of Wade in between which would pretty sure irritate the hell out of him.

Good job by Pant! And it's good that Wade is being criticized for fat shaming. A controversy will annoy and distract him and his team even further.

Looks like absence of Kohli has given these aussies some courage.

I would have loved to see Kohlis reaction when wade deliberately turned backwards to face Pant.

I can imagine Wade absolutely losing it tbh

All these eloborate replies only show that he got under his skin. A good counter should be simple

Maybe he can call him temporary opener. We got temporary opener here guys, don't worry about him he won't last long

Not your type, so stop admiring me on the screen and bat.

Why is it always Pant ? He somehow gets under their skin.

tbf he was laughing and cackling away like a crazy dude high on something.  But who cares, it clearly rubbed Wade the wrong way...

It’s a cultural thing, his laugh was more in the context of Bravo! Whatta fantastic ball, delivered with a chuckle/ exclamation. It wasn’t exactly a hysterical laugh.

Wade was just flustered with the bowling as he was looking like a tailender in the match.

Meh its not that bad a sledge. Media is making too much noise just to get attention. What the hell is fat shaming btw. We live in strange times. All these anglo countries are overcorrecting their bad habits so much that we cant even call somebody fat anymore. I was called fat as a kid and it made me work hard on walking and at the gym and I watched what I ate. If I wasn't called fat like in these times, I would be a fatso with health issues while still young.

Coming back to Pant, I hope he continues what he does. His chirping has clearly annoyed some batsmen and definitely worked on Wade. I hear Paine yelling on top of his lungs when Lyon is bowling. Its all fair in love and war.

The fact that Wade took an issue to this is testament to the fact that he got rattled. And that aggressive pose he held towards Pant after the last ball before the tea break was  Pant should have laughed at his face. That would have made him angrier than anything he would say. Pant should not try something funnier to say to batsmen. Canned lines never work. He is already doing his job. Just keep working hard on keeping to spinners and keep shouting

A lot of keeper 'banter' and sledging is just noise - it doesn't have to be brilliant and insightful 100% of the time.  And clearly Pant's antics had an impact on Wade, he probably felt disrespected - and was looking for a confrontation to get his own adrenalin flowing.  Whatever.

Thats probably it. He seems to me the type who looks for it to keep him motivated. Not unlike Kohli who needs a villain in the opposition to get his competitive juices flowing
